ide love to see daft punk, but dont think leeds -reading will be able to book them, and definately not this year.

they will have MCR as the seemingly popular headliner who arent good headliners and arent that popular.

i think muse is the standard predictable but solid headliner.

the strokes is the highly popular comeback band who will be brilliant live.

pulp could headline in thier own right, but are like libs last year, special guest 2nd headliner.Yet again great live, and coming back would be huge if it was only reading and leeds who have them booked, though i think glasto should get them aswell.

Greenday have really gone down hill with thier albums,i dont think that many people will be bothered about them, especially if they dont play their old stuff live.

ide be happy with the strokes and pulp playing even if they dont headliner.

muse are always good live, even if you dont like some of thier new stuff.

mcr are piss poor in my opinion,i definately dont think that leeds/reading regular crowd would take to them at all, definately not as healdining act anyway.

if each say has a good mix of rock-punk-indie-dance then ide be satisfied.

As I've said many times I'll be very happy with the Strokes and MUSE, and will go to another tent when MCR play. Fair play to them getting the headline spot. Even if they aren't the majorities cup of tea it's a massive achievement for them! Presuming these are the headliners...

At the end of the day it's all entirely subjective what bands we like anyway. I don't especially like The Strokes, I really don't like MCR and I utterly despise Muse, but then these bands could pack out arenas and stadiums with people who DO like them - there is an audience for that music. Will I go and check them out? I might nip past and see MCR play, yeah, but I'll probably spend most of the time in the other tents if I go - funnily enough, like I did almost entirely last year. No change for me.

In all truth, I couldn't really give a shit about the headliners because I'm resigned to the fact they're not very solid (subjective), so when I see the inevitable line-up announcement on here or hear it on Radio 1, I'll be paying attention to who's playing before them. If the NME stage is shit and the other bands on the main stage are shit, I'll probably sod off down to Hop Farm, End of the Road or I'll Be Your Mirror where I know for a fact they're not. Maybe get a handful of day tickets to Download, Bloodstock or V because they're relatively local. Leeds (or Reading) would have been good in the run up to Bestival but it's not essential for me to go there.

Basically, I don't see the point in people complaining about the headliners anyway. It's not as if they're going to change. Just accept it and move on - that's who we've got, it's not going to change, make the most of it.
