Solar Shower

I used one last year at a different festival. They are a real must when you feeling crap and have spent the last 24 hours pissed up, sweaty etc. Only thing to watch is that you don't upset your neighbours with the used water flowing into their camp. I think I used a gelert one that was about a tenner from eBay.

There were some people near us in the CV fields lat year who had one laid out on the bonnet of their car to heat up. But they reckoned that even with the scorcher we had last year it never really got warm.

Last year was so warm that we just left 10ltr bags of water out in the sun for a couple of hours and they were luke warm already... they have little taps on the end and one of us would hold it over the other etc. it was perfect as we needed to shower every day due to the heat and one 10ltr bag showered 3 people as we conserved the water very carefully... job done!

and obviously its going to be the same weather this year so i'll be doing the same thing! :D:D:D

Can't recommend solar showers highly enough, great for getting the mud off in wet years & an absolute life-saver in hot weather. There's no problem having the water at the right temperature, topping the shower up using a funnel & hot (not boiling!) water from a kettle works a treat. As for not annoying your neighbours with the water running everywhere a small paddling pool catches the overflow nicely & if your tent has a large enough porch then you can have a proper shower indoors.

I like the paddling pool idea, the missus will be happy with that!!! How do you empty it once it was full though? Could almost have a bath at this rate, I reckon natural bubbles will be available after a few days of beer and junk food. We will have our own jacuzzi!!! Party times!!!

how do you rig them up? I have used them hooked onto the roof of a campervan but not when tenting, which we do at Glasto?

I have almost always managed to get into the Greenpeace showers or been half working so had access to crew showers, but this year would like to use Solar so interested in how you hook them up!
