Seriously, love a bit of Bruce, and had the time of my life during his Glastonbury set, but can you imagine the collective reaction of the general demograph of this festival if Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band was announced as headliner?!

Bruce Springsteen has no place at R&L, just like Paul McCartney, Prince, U2, Bon Jovi, etc. don't either. There are festivals for them (Glasto, Wireless, Hard Rock Calling), R&L isn't one of them.

He's got no place at the current R&L because well he's a bit too good.

Of course he does. I can't see why not. A lot of people within the Alternative Rock community (those who the festival is more aimed at than anybody) look up to him as one of the few mainstream rock acts that it's ok to respect, same as somebody like Neil Young or even Tom Petty. I yearn for a day when he does something completely bonkers and offers to headline the Festival Republic tent or do something low-key on another stage armed with an acoustic guitar and maybe a piano, and a setlist that consists entirely of 'Nebraska' tracks.
