gratedenini
I spent weeks / months loading up the PC with all me CDs and got them onto me iPod. Cushty. Then would sync it each time I uploaded a new CD etc. But--- I dont have the PC now. Got the iPod though. Question : if I get a new PC and dowload ITunes... and sync the iPod..will all the music already on my iPod be transferred to Itunes on the PC? Make sense? den
rexclark
It won't but there are free programmes that will move songs from your ipod to your new itunes. I'd imagine someone here will be able to point you in the right direction. Anyway, i always imagined you'd have one of these.

gratedenini
If you sync your ipod with a new pc, it will completely wipe the ipod.
Toilet Duck
No yer not f*cked...it's perfectly possible to use an iPod with as many PCs as you like. On your new PC, install iTunes...once installed, go into the preferences (under the edit tab)...go to devices and check the box to prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from synching automatically with iTunes...then you can manually transfer anything you want and it won't wipe your iPod, or put stuff on it that you don't want....Apple don't make it too easy for you to move stuff off your iPod, but there are various programs that can help... parTy animal
The software programme Modey recommended is pretty good tbh. I've used it a few times when hooking up my ipod to a new laptop or my family pc.

jump
I've got a weird question, my Stiff Little Fingers music will only show up in the album section and not in the artist section of my Ipod when I'm looking through it. I've let the computer automatically fill in the band name when ripping my cds, I've entered it manually and I've click compilation option on/off and still no luck. Any suggestions? ampersand
album artist field is causing a problem for me, but that tends to just split up albums, rather than not show them at all. check and see if there's anything unusual in there though? ste4_20
to sum up.... i-tunes doesn't want people to be able to transfer stuff from i-pod to any pc, so you need to get a programme that will do it. I-tunes won't 'allow' it
StoneCircle
Thank you for all the replies.. and forgive me for being a bit like a tuppence with no hair and remember I`m a person who remembers buying sweets off a tray which the old woman used to fetch from under the counter. gratedenini
I am a tuppence with hair, however I remember that too! Den Yes you can. Just make sure Prevent iPods, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically IS ticked in iTunes before you start or the iPod will sync and all will be lost. Go into Edit & Preferences to do this. I have tried Sharepod, wouldn't work for me. I initiallty bought POD to PC last year think it cost about £12 for a 1 user license to buy or there is a free trial available. I have just used it again and the user key still worked!! This was from same iPod to different laptops. Well worth it not having to load all the CD's again! http://www.macroplant.com/podtopc/ PM or e-mail me if you need any help or want to try and use my user key! olliet101
I've been having the same problem as well ampersand, I found a tutorial on it deleting preference files but it wasn't very clear and when I followed it, a few weeks later it would happen all over again. Would really appreciate someone explaining how to get rid of it, it resets my preferences which is really bloody annoying.
ampersand
Use a decent media player/organiser
