features turned off when busy

With the forums already having high traffic this early in the day because of the Reading/Leeds announcement tonight, then it looks very likely that the website will be exceptionally busy this evening for that announcement just after 7pm.

To help everything run more smoothly during that busy time, when things start to get too busy a number of less-necessary forum features will be turned off.

Along with the extra capacity that efestivals has due to a number of hardware upgrades that have been done since last year, turning off those features will hopefully mean that everyone will be able to access these forums who wants to - and hopefully they'll be a new record set for the number of forum users (the current record, set before those hardware upgrades, is 4,725 people).

well, that's nearly another two thousand added to the record number of users, about a 40% increase over previously.

I know there were some issues, and I'll attempt to get those ironed out before the next busy day.

and two other website records were set yesterday too - 132,000 unique users and 181,000 visits in a day. Not bad.
