I think the problem is that people think its too similar to previous ones! I looked at the line up, thought it looks weak, but looked again and I do like several bands on that list, but this festival isn't aiming to appeal to the same people who went the previous years, they also attract new festival goers so "recycling bands" is bound to happen because people who haven't been to festivals before will want to see bands in previous years!

I'm happy with it, apart from the top two on Friday at Reading (oh and Beady Eye!). Hopefully Dropkick Murphys will headline the lock up that day and I'll have something more productive to do than watch White Lies then chill back at the tent with a giant yorkshire pud :)

Give me NoFX on the friday in the lock-up tent and this is a dream weekend.

Elbow, Muse, Jane's Addiction (in the tent!!!!!!), Rise against, Architects, Deftones, Offspring, Madness, The National, Pulp, Frank turner.

The first time since 2008 I will part with my Money with nothing but delight.

people need to keep in mind that the lock up and dance tent are yet to come.

and a couple more the main stage are always announced after the initial line up.

for 5 days of camping and for seeing as many bands as you do 200 ish isnt too bad .

think how much it would cost to see each band seperately(maybe minus that price a little for less songs at fests than a individual gig)

aslong as their a few bands that are must see,and a good amount that are want to see and great live, its worth it.

And with mates their its definately worth it.

The National - Pulp - The Strokes. This may the best top 3 in Europe this year imo and that will be a fantastic way to end the festival.

Been since 06 and I think this may be the best first announcement I've seen. There seem to be a few clashes but I'd like to be wondering who I want to see, then wondering through the line not having a clue on what I'd be doing at certain times at the fest.

Madness, Streets, Interpol, Beady Eye, Doherty, Elbow, Pigeons, Frank Turner and quite a few more. Nice to see Lee Nelson there aswell! Wouldn't mind a trip to the Alternative to check him out. Very happy though :D

MCR, Deftones, Rise Against, White Lies, The Vaccines, Patrick Wolf, The Strokes, Pulp, The National, Jimmy Eat World, Madness, Two Door Cinema Club, Muse, Elbow, Interpol, Chapel Club, Frank Turner and Taking Back Sunday. I make that 18 acts that I'd be interested in seeing. Add to that the likes of The Naked and Famous, OFWGKTA, and Warpaint who I haven't herad much of, and the entire rest of the FR stage and it's once again shaping up to be a great line-up for me. Plenty of acts I've seen and know are great live (Muse, The National), acts that I've not seen but would like to (Rise Against, Pulp) and acts that'll be good at the festival.

There's loads of bands I haven't seen before who I've wanted to see for ages now

All of the acts on mainstage on The Strokes day

Elbow, Interpol, Friendly Fires, Warpaint, Chapel Club, DFA 1979, The Kills, Noah & the Whale, Patrick Wolf

And if Tim Minchin's there, I definitely have to be there. I wasn't gonna pay £40 to see him in an arena B)

Hi people, first time poster here, anyway been going Reading since 2001 and while this years isn't the best since i've been going (looking at MCR/30STM) it's still gonna be quality. Deftones, Offspring, Muse, Pulp, Elbow, Interpol, madness, The Joy Formidable, The National, Janes Addiction and JEW will all be quality. Even though im starting to feel old going Reading (i'm 35) i'll still be down the front for Deftones, muse etc.

I have a varied taste in music so this years lineup is...AMAZING!!! For example I love BMTH and Strokes but the highlight of the announcement is definitely The Offspring for me. First band I ever liked and never seen them. Friday at Reading/Saturday at Leeds is by far the best day for me and the names on that day certainly make up for MCR headlining. Seen MCR already so I might see Beady Eye at this stage...would prefer someone else though...

Whoever suggested NOFX is right (Also noticed Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are touring a lot this year so it could be them this year hopefully!!!) ;)

I'm happy as you like but I would have gone to see Pulp, The Strokes and Muse anyway :D

The kills, Cage the elephant, white lies, joy formidable, madness (can believe they are playing Leeds pulled huge crowd at V last year), interpol, metronomy, vaccines, chapel club, noah and the whale, offspring, warpaint, bombay bicycle club and the horrors..... plus we still have the FR stage which always brings a few delights yeahhhhh
