Line up - the verdict

[let's 'ave it!!!]

ok, haven't been to Reading since 2008, but this years line up seems pretty good to me, has quite alot of gems.

So having spent this evening on the reading forum I can't get a clear idea of what the general feel over the line up is. so vote away!

P.s I know it's not officially confirmed, but let's be realistic now, it's pretty much nailed on isn't it?

I love the line-up tbh, it may not be every bodies cup of tea, but it's mine.

The only two acts I would of hoped to of seen and they're not on it were Vampire Weekend and Mumford & Sons! But heyho, can't get everyone I wished for.

mcr and beady arent storng headliners.

but amount of bands i like is about 14 from the initial list.

there will be more top bands from dance and lock up tent aswell.

just hope not to many play glasto which im also going to.

Really like it. But I'm not a metal fan, and can understand why this line-up doesn't inspire the R&L faithful.

i prefer heavy rock/metal to anything but i can easily listen to absolutely anything! and i mean i could go to v and have a good time, creamfields, glasto ... i like anything so this line up is very good for me think ill be going to high voltage this year though aswell for judas priest and dream theater!!!

I would say good, last year was fantastic and would take alot to beat. This year has some fantastic acts and alot of rubbish ones, but it's good overall.

Meh. Not as good as last year. Too many bands I've seen recently. Wouldn't go as is. A decent Lock Up line-up could make or break it.

The Friday is horrible.

Some of the placements are rubbish, Beady Eye headlining NME with one album confuses me. I can go elsewhere though, will be a relaxed start to the festival.

The Offspring, Deftones, Rise against, Pulp, The Strokes, Jimmy Eat world, Madness, Muse / 2many dj's, the streets, Frank turner, Panic at the disco chapel club, cage the elephant, The Joy formidable, Seasick Steve.

@ Milton Keynes

Foo Fighters, Biffy clyro, Death cab for cutie.

Its orite like , if you look around it a bit, theres gems, I think its good but not fantastic but depending what sort of shows some of the bands pull out it could be blinding. I am might tempted!

Crushingly, devastatingly disappointing. Great Friday, but not enough else for the rest of the weekend. I'm feeling so let down...

A strong Lock-up headliner on the Friday (C'mon NoFX!), and a few quality bands dotted around the Saturday lock-up and that's all I need for a great Weekend.

2manydjs is such a lazy booking for second stage headliners. I think they're great, but you can see them anywhere. Totally unoriginal

Overall it's good, but it's not spread out enough for me. The Saturday is excellent, Sunday is good but the Friday is a laughable excuse for a line-up. Also why not have Jane's Adddiction subbing and 30STM headlining the tent? I'd have thought most people who are into the Strokes are at least aware of Jane's Addiction and would be interested in seeing them, it's a terrible clash.

For me it seems like Reading have tried (or at least have delivered) a kinnda more credible lineup than whats been happening of late. The headliners are either too small, boring or predictable. But the undercard is full of credible acts, varied genres, nice surprises, incredible surprises, reunion acts, and all other kinds of acts. I love it. It's a shame i cannot go as i think i'd actually enjoy it. Reading festival as a whole though is a shitheap.
