Also if anyone's into conspiracy theories maybe there's a more indie feel this years festival so that people who usually go to Glasto look at R&L's line-up with the likes of Elbow, Pulp and The National and think "that looks like my sort of thing, I'll go there on my year off from Glastonbury".

That is one shite conspiracy theory as to believe that people who go to Glastonbury are only into indie music. Look at the glastonbury lineup and stages and you can see that apart from some heavier acts the music on offer is unbelievably diverse. I go to glasto but also go to Leeds for my fix of heavier bands that I like so I think that theory is pretty flawed.

I was reading a thread in the T forums, apparently they say that every year but there's always a steady stream of tickets available. Whether they keep releasing batches I don't know, but it hasn't sold out and there's been tickets readily available.

TITP does the same every year. It initially sells out within minutes. A few months later another small batch comes up and sells out quickly then a final batch comes out and eventually sells out. Smart move but at least the R&L organisers aren't pretending the festival's sold out when it actually hasn't.

Yeah I know, they probably sold a far greater percentage of tickets that R&L, the point is that evryone was claiming that R&L was screwed because it was the only major festival that hadn't sold out and it was because of the line-up blah blah blah, but in reality T hasn't sold out, Download didn't sell out, V hasn't sold out, Oxegen hasn't sold out and Soni hasn't sold out. There may only be a small number of tickets available for some of those but they still couldn't find enough people to buy all of their tickets. While it may not be as bad as R&L (although we don't actually know how bad R&L is) is shows that other festivals are suffering from a slow-down in sales and it may not just be R&L's allegedly crappy line-up that is affecting it.
