sloan85
It would be interesting to see how many they have actually sold, I reckon about 3/4 of the weekenders will have gone.
chappiepunk
well we will see how long they remain on sale for. i cant remember there being reading tickets left on sale after the first day, i could be wrong with that?
sloan85
I got one in the morning last year. Ok you think it is shite, are you going to add anything else to the discussion or are you going to leave? Discuss the line up, fine. But calling it shite is just pathetic and narrow minded. Vacant0
ill probably calm down in a week or 2, it just seems so weak compared to last year and to this years download and sonisphere line ups.
Vacant0
I think they have been available for over a week before in the last 5 years, I coudl easily be wrong tho, hopefully someone with a better memory than me we come along and put it right Edited March 22, 2011 by Vacant0

GINGERWILDCAT
Piss poor line up,poor festival, much prefer a four hour drive, get a ferry and enjoy IOW,but that's just my opinion!
sloan85
Ye, you're wrong. Pretty sure that the first batch of Leeds weekend tickets have still been available for near enough a week once or twice in the last few years (maybe thats what you're thinking) but Reading tickets certainly haven't been. loscfestivals
They had THREE presales this year too. After last years fest Vodafone in December Vodafone on Thursday So two extra oppurtunities for people to get tickets than normal and STILL no sell out
poromenos
if there are still tickets available tomorrow morning,it will be the worst ticket selling day of the last 5 years (at least...)
Matticus
i remember 2003. getting a ticket a few months after the line up was realeased. and it cost 95 bucks! They had to work hard for your money those days, hence the strong bill.
pink_triangle
I think its a couple of things. Theres only so much you can put the price up every year before people look at other ways to spend the money. Also when I first went to the festival in the late 90s, the top four headliners seemed to be get more commercial success than they do now. You will struggle to find the likes of jimmy eat world, the national, interpol, friendly fires on the radio, so they are not as well known to some of the festival crowd. Doesnt mean they cant put on a good show, but they may not be huge ticket draws. Also for a lot of people its the headliners that sell festivals and undoubtedly the three we have dont sell as many records or tickets as some of the other major festivals. thetime
Nothing to do with the price of the ticket, people would pay more if they had a good lineup. Not for me this year, enjoy folks.
Bisque
I'm tempted to buy one just because I can get through on seetickets.
Role Model
Not one to talk about facebook but my feed has been so empty on chat about Reading compared to recent years, there's just not the buzz it usually generates. I'm not surprised it's taking longer to sell out, why would it with that line-up? It'll still sell out eventually and Melvin will say his choices were fine though.
