We were in much more hope than expectation for anything to surprise us rather than Muse, MCR and Strokes. The problem is the undercard, as said many many countless times. For all the bands that were out there that Melvin could have got he didn't. This is what I'm most pissed off about. I mean Reading has always had a good line-up the past few years, and if even if you were a but meh on it there would other smaller bands you could have seen. Not this time. I mean, BEADY EYE, SERIOUSLY?

It's obvious they've been given that slot because it's Oasis minus Noel and the organisers are expecting a lot of people to want to see them. They may not have earned that position but if FR expect them to be popular then it makes sense.

Can't stand Beady Eye, half because they're shit and half because of the 'dickhead' type of fans they attract, similar to Pendulum.

The one thing that pisses me off is that on Friday night at Reading, I have no interest in MCR or Beady Eye. On Saturday night I want to see Jane's Addiction and The Strokes... At least on Friday night I have the option of chilling, but Saturday is going to give me a headache all day and whoever I watch, I'll regret not being there to see the other.

I can't say I know too much about them, at least I can check them out with an open mind. Whereas with MCR or Beady Eye I'd be annoyed from the start.

Should definately check them out, 2 great albums, however they are very full of themselves, but who wouldnt be with a mercury nomination under your belt.

its not really true tho is it? it took ELBOW 15 years to break threw, after wining the mercury award off the back of the seldom seen kid (in my view one of the finest albums of the passed decade) still he and-hes band are lovely down to earth people and so respectful of there fans

yep i see your point, but to me your looking on the negative side of things a bit much. with bands like the strokes,pulp,madness,the national,pigeon detectives, elbow, seasick steve, frank turner,white lies,beady eye,vaccines, and pete doherty to name a few its going to be top yes the placement of some bands seem off and yes some of the bands may have played before, so what its still going to be a top weekend
