jc87
I have been going Reading since 2004 and I think this year has a bit more diversity than previous years. It may not have the greatest headliner's but think once the lock up/dance/festival republic stage is announced it could turn out to be a very good Reading Festival. Headliners My Chemical Romance - I am not a great fan of these guys, but understand they put on a very theatrical live perfomance has a fairly solid fan base and have been playing areans around the world since the Black Parade. They also have shifted a fair few albums in this time, even though the latest offering may not have done as well as previous i can understand why they are being given the chance to headline. The Strokes - Being a 24 year old guy I owe this band for getting me into guitar music. I saw these guys at Isle Of Wight Festival last summer and you forget how many anthems they have. It will be there 1st time back since 2002 which is a long time for any band at any festival especially Reading since we have had repeated bookings of Bloc Party/The Killers/Kings Of Leon/Lostprophets. It's another band like MCR who have a chance to prove there worthy headliners. Muse - Have seen Muse about 9/10 times. One of my favourite all time bands and a great live act (even though i will probably go and see 2 Many Djs). I would of prefered them to of came back to Reading when they had new material to play like they did in 2006, but if there playing a bit more stuff of Origin Of Symmetry I think it could be a special end the weekend. They may not be Metallica or Iron Maiden to close the weekend but surely are more of a rock act to close Sunday than Blink 182. For me there are plenty more highlights than lowlights. Bring on The Strokes Pulp 2 Many DJ's Interpol Elbow Deftones OFWGTKA Death From Above 1979 White Lies Jimmy Eat World The Horrors Frank Turner The National Tim Minchin Noah and The WHale Plus i wish Jane's Addiction/Strokes Muse/2 Many Dj's was not clashing but that's the beauty of a Festival. Mariner
Deftones are obviously a big draw. Hell, they should have headlined on Friday. Offsrping, JEW, Madness, The Offspring, TBS, Seasick Steve, Janes Addiction, Henry Rollins + FR stage, Lockup and Dance TBC. It'll probably be a suprisingly good festival. I'm pretty upbeat and I'm usually a morbidly depressed person.
Chr1s
As well as the music I am insanely looking forward to Henry Rollins, loved seeing him get announced for the alt stage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M95h-TKSjpE
hazzamid11
Glastonbury - U2, Coldplay, Beyonce - wouldnt see any TITP - Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Foo Fighters - would only see Foos V Festival - Arctic Monkeys, Eminem - wouldnt see any Isle of Wight - KOL, Foo Fighters, Kasabian - would only see Foos Rockness - Kasabian, Chemical Brothers, Paulo Nutini - would only see Chemical Brothers Download - Def Leopard, SOAD, Linkin Park - would only see SOAD Sonisphere - Big 4, Biffy, Slipknot - Big 4, but both Biffy and Slipknot i would struggle to see as headliners R/L - MCR, The Strokes/Pulp, Muse - The Strokes/Pulp and Muse will definatly see for me, compared to all other major festivals, R/L wins headliner wise. (Bestival is exempt as it ruins my arguement)
danvb
no one festival has 3 absolute undeniably amazing headliners that nearly everyone will love. theres one weak headliner for each fest, good live bands for nearly every one,but some not as big as others, and some regular live acts. no real scoops tbh.no shockingly good once in lifetime headliners for any.
