Special firsttimer question

Well, hello there.

I'm a firsttimer and i am planning to travel from Russia. So, I have some special noob question:

Now I am 17, and in may i will be 18. Will i get my adult wristband, or all the information about me will be stored when i order a ticket, and i will be still a "child" on festival?

And, maybe anyone could advise me quiet nice but cheap hotel in London? That would be awesome.

No, nothing is stored like that. Bring some valid ID (best to use a passport, Russian driving licence or ID card won't always be accepted) and you'll be fine for getting served at the bars and stuff.

If you are dead set on not camping (I whole heartedly recommend it), perhaps you could try and get in the holiday inn next to the reading site?

Else pederson hotels is closeby http://pedersenhotels.com/reading/

I would not recommend getting a hotel all the way in London, due to the huge outflow/ influx of traffic every day, travelling to and from the festival will take hours and hours.

There are only 7 types of wristband to my knowledge:

Weekend camping

Friday

Saturday

Sunday

VIP weekend camping

Steward

18+ (you can get this for free & must be worn with any of the above, saves bar staff from having to ask for ID)

So as long as you have weekend camping + ID or 18+ wristband you will be fine. You need ID to get 18+ wristband.

Edit- Read this too...

Yeah there is no separate child or adult wristband so have ID if you want to buy alcohol. You can get an additional wristband to say that you've proved that you're over 18 if you go to a specific booth when at the festival but you still might get asked for ID at a bar.

Really, thanks for your help. Yeah, i meant hotel just because i wanted to see London and maybe Manchester or Sheffield. So i'll just keep looking...

I have one more interesting question, I think. I am planning to order from SeeTickets, is it alright? Or maybe it's better to order from another company? And here comes the interesting question: if the situation goes crazy and i won't get VISA, and i will have to sell my ticket must i have it? Because there is an option to get them from Hexagon or smth else, but i am really afraid of losing my money because of VISA problems... Can you help?

While the other posters are correct with regards 18+ wristband in practice if the bar staff spot to many people who are under 18 but have a 18+ wristband they will be instructed to ignore the wrist bands { I work for the Company that runs the bars and this happens a lot due to the fact that they are less strict at the wristband tent than they are at the bar }

It really depends how old you look as the bars will either be asking everyone who looks under 21 { or they may be asking everyone who looks under 25 as this varies from event to a event }

In your case a Russian driving licence will not be accepted so it has to be your current passport { bar staff will not accept a old passport nor will they accept a photocopy }

Yes I know its a hassle but due to UK Law bar staff can end up being charged if they serve to a person under 18 so we don't have any choice in the matter and its a lot stricter than it used to be.
