The funniest thing about all this is that there will be hundreds of touts that have bought up reading tickets in the hope of making a profit. There's over 200 listed on ebay as "reading weekend tickets" at the moment, with many of them for 2 or more tickets. Most of them have starting bids of £200 and fail to sell - the ones selling go for anywhere between £150 and £180. There will be plenty more people with unwanted tickets that are holding back in the hope prices go up once they sell out.

I actually really like the reading lineup this year, but I wasn't going to spend £200 when I'm already going to Glastonbury. It would be my first year not going since I started in 2006 (when the ticket face value was just £135!), but if the tout prices come down I may be tempted...

Let's not forget here that both TITP & V (esp TITP) are held on a much bigger plot of land compared to say Reading which is restricted by a railway line on one side and the Thames on the other..as a result they are able to have a second big outdoor stage (& numerous other massive tents capable of hosting big bands) and as a result can get big names to play on there which in some cases would only be suitable for the mainstage at R/L because of the capacity of the tent...I don't think you can compare the R/L line-up to say the TITP line-up when they have always tried to get a line-up that gets R/L acts and also V Fest acts...

Out of all the headliners and subs from the festivals this year, ideally i would have...

Muse / U2 / Coldplay

Pulp / Strokes / Blink-182

3/6 from leeds, so I am happy with that, the fact that they are headlining at leeds and subbing elsewhere does not bother me at all.

However, I do agree with the point made about the prices.

If you compare the line ups and look at the size of the bands, then you would have thought that titp would have cost more. If this is not the case, then the organisers of R+L are missing a trick. Even with the competition of V, download, sonisphere, you would still think that the line up overall would cost more at titp. I doubt they would have paid much more for bands to be exclusive headliners (with the exception of muse) if they were not completely exclusive to the festival.

I don't care than the bands aren't has big as at other festivals, as this very rarely means they are better, but if prices of bands reflect popularity, then R+L must spend less on the line up as a whole. Again this wouldn't bother me, if the prices of tickets reflected this, but they dont.

I am probably completely wrong in all this like, just guessing.

Weezer into Blink would of been a lot more fluid than Paramore to be honest. It's not really thought about i doubt and i don't really think it matters. Last year at Glastonbury wasn't Dizzee Rascal scheduled to play before U2 before they pulled out? that would of been a complete change of direction. Elbow to Muse isn't that bad and they're both gonna be amazing either way

Deadly serious, sick of all these lazy shits at my uni. Parents have paid for everything their whole life, they take nothing seriously because their parents will bail them out. They don't know the values of hard work.

I wouldn't mind but I have to work with the c**ts and when I'm trying to get a first, paying for it out of my own pocket, it gets bloody annoying to have someone moan about taking a few hours to produce a solid piece of work. You have to ask yourself "How are you ever gonna survive in full time work if you can't take a few hours to complete a relatively simple task?"

Parents earn the money, f**k putting it away for a kids university, let them get a student loan and a part time job. They are adults, let them fend for themself.

Go have some fun with it, hell, go for a romantic weekend at Reading/ Leeds festival.

At times it's been very fluid, at others it hasn't. There is no hard and fast rule, just like there is no rule about being heavy one year and then indie the next, or having a heavy day and an indie day. There are always exceptions to any pattern.
