anything++
Hi. This year will be my first year at Reading Festival and I hear alot about how at Reading there are certain liscencing laws. To what extent does this stretch? Is there a curfew and is there simply nothing to do after the bands have played?
kibble
The bands finish at around 11:30, after that there's a silent disco, amusement rides and a screening tent* that go to after the music has finished. I think they tend to end at around 2. *It shows some classic films aswell as other things. Edited March 27, 2011 by kibble
Vacant0
So, ye, basically there is nothing to do after the bands have played.

Vieuphoria
f**k all sir. Nothing but a Silent disco and a cinema. If your lucky you'll see a load of drunk teens acting out
Vieuphoria
I've always thought it would be a better idea to loose the alternative stage, and have comedians at night in the FR tent. After the bands end until a certain time.
jazz565
if your with friends just get f**king drunk! drinking games are the best to do (getting high too but that a illegal) i recommend ring of fire for drinking games
FiestaDave
No much of a fan of the after hours stuff. The silent disco is only worthwhile if your plastered. Nothing better than sitting round a camp fire with your friends having a few beers!

harderfaster
there's very little in terms of after hours entertainment apart from on sunday. on sunday there's a wide array of things to do - you can run to your nearest camp and throw their chairs on your bonfire, you can find something metal, climb on top of the toilets and start acting like a gorilla by banging the metal on the toilet roof, you can start throwing stuff at the lights to try and cause a powercut, you can run around in unison shouting alan, bollocks or winning (whatever takes your fancy really), or you can hijack a trolley from the local supermarket and see how many tents you can flatten before somebody beats the crap out of you. but as mentioned, if you've got a good group of mates and a few beers then you won't need after hours entertainment. get some firewood, chill with a beer and discuss how much better last year at reading was. oh, the cynicism never stops... Bisque
There is the Swap Shop in the alternative stage that went on afterhours last year. Its a disco where you can swap your clothes with charity shop ones being thrown out at you from the stage. Was really good fun, even with just me & 1 other friend but we didn't go back so not sure if it was just on the Friday night. The Sonic Manipulator was outside too. Banana Co
After Arcade Fire, by the green campsite arena entrance, I saw a man run into these bins, flip over onto the floor and then he started to shout at the bins. That was amazing.
Clemo
Once you've been on your feet from 11am to 11pm you'll probably look forward to sitting down at your tent for a bit. but the films looked a decent plan but we never got round to it, stuff like Kick-ass, the new Sherlock Holmes & avatar, even though I'm sure it weren't even out on DVD at the time, but I digress, oh & there was a couple of zombie flicks on to I think. zeppelin
always found the actionaid tent is a laugh til it closes other than that we normally just chill at camp with a fire & drinks

Bisque
I think the ease of access & women makes up for it.
