Russell Kane Pulls Out?

Firstly don't know if it has been said or if anyone even cares - i dont particularly. But in the official original announcement poster, released on the website - Russell Kane's name appeared on the alternatve stage, if you now navigate to the Line Up section of the website his name isn't there. Two Door Cinema Club's text has also been changed so it's clearly been updated by someone for some reason. Have a look for yourself, share thoughts blah blah blah

EDIT: He does however appear on the Leeds festival website, so it seems he'll be on the Leeds line up and not the Reading one - maybe their Thursday night entertainment (?) like they usually have i believe. Again, do the Reading goers care?

Happens all the time, I remember Fight Like Apes vanished off last years poster when they pulled out without any kind of announcement or update.

I don't think he's subbing, more like headlining the second stage. But same principle, he's not playing their comedy tent or anything.

Well really at soni there is two main stages that alternate acts. He will be the act that plays second last before slipknot so technically sub headlining.

That is a fair point, and I suppose he is a musical act so could do something similar to tenacious d in 08. Still though id probably prefer a music act with the comedy headliners being middle of the day so I get to see as many acts as possible.

Ah OK, didn't know that.

Don't think I'd fancy him on one of the main stages, I think his stand-up is better than his musical comedy. I don't think he can be compared to Tenacious D.

I think they should set up an episode of QI on the main stage and have done with it.

At Reading the big & bigish names play all over the place, most big names tend to be late afternoon/early evening though.
