I couldnt give a toss about exclusivity. Im not off to T in the Park, Radio Ones Big Weekend, or Wireless Festival so why should that lessen my enjoyement of the likes of The Strokes, Pulp, MCR ect at Leeds.....if anything it gives me a chance to watch them on TV before Leeds which for me is never a bad thing.

As a guy who has been going to festivals for an awful long time now its ingrained into me that festival organisers talk bollocks and I take everything they say with a pinch of salt as it will in no way affect my enjoyement of the festival once Im there.

I think it's just more tenuous this year, with The Strokes and MCR both playing elsewhere, and Pulp being a "North of England" exclusive.

Exclusivity isn't really a big deal unless you actually go to more than one festival and end up seeing the same headliner. Its important for the festivals from a marketting perspective, but for the actual festival goer I don't see that it makes any difference. I think Melvin definitely looks a little bit silly after the big weekend announcement, but its not going to have any effect on my weekend knowing that the bands I see have, god forbid, been seen by other people in recent memory.

But every year we share headliners.

I really couldnt give a toss what is on a any of the other festivals because I would never go to them. The only festival I ever plan to go to is Leeds so why should a band playing at another festival stop me enjoying them. Im happy as hell the Pulp are playing one of their last ever shows at Leeds, them playing every other festival means nothing.

MCR are worthy headliners for this festival, the fact they arnt headlining other festivals doesnt mean a thing
