Anybody have a spare ticket?

Now I don't mean to appear unkind, but a quick bit of maths tells me that there are 146 days between today and EoTR. That means that the additional cost of purchasing a currently available ticket (less booking fee etc, I know, but stay with me) is 31p a day if you can already find £100.

That's less than a Mars Bar, can of (diet) Coke, daily newspaper, cost of a wee in a railway station.

If you are prioritising the festival as an important event for this year then ,despite 'difficult times', can you really not find 31p a day for it over the next few months? And if you're worried about it selling out, do you really know no-one who will not loan you £45 for 4 and a half months. Then you could put aside your 31p daily and have the payback ready on 5 September.

I promise I'm not being patronising or intentionally unkind. I just thought it was a touch cheeky for someone to be in April, asking for someone to sell them a ticket at a nearly 50% cost saving, for an event where tickets are still available and the event is not for a third of a year!

Am I being too unfair here, folks?

YES YOU ARE BEN......

If they announce that the Unthanks are playing you can have my ticket....(joke)

Seriously why are you ranting now Ben, someone was selling their tickets on here the other day for something like £100, earlybirds were only £120, and if it is anything like last year people were unable to sell on tickets nearer the time....so seeing the line up I can imagine that some people would gladly sell their tickets for £100!!Hope you get one Cliff

OK, hands up!

I'm happy to accept guilty as charged! However, I take issue with the line-up and can't believe that most 'typical' Endoftheroaders can't find enough in there to dispel all thoughts of selling an already purchased ticket. I think the line-up is stronger (for me) than last year, though I didn't go as it wasn't my one-festival-a-year-max-or-you're-in-trouble festival for 2010!

So, apologies all 'round. BTW, I'm not grumpy, really I'm not! I just have such an issue with the 'quality' of what passes for popular, chart music and the trajectory it's been following over the last couple of years. I might have a mini-rantette on the other thread...

Good luck with your ticket quest, CVC
