Depends on what bands play where & smaller late night venues not being announced yet at Glastonbury but I would have to say Bestival for me has more bands/acts that I would like to see. Whether right up at the front or just passing by.

i dont mind downloads line up at all...i think if you look at the undercard at download its alot better than last years .. i think they have a good undercard and also strong secound stage headliners so that makes up for deaf and linking park .. also soad soo

  • 2 weeks later...

while on paper the festival is very weak, ive realised theres quite a bit id like to see ( not 200 quids worth mind)

The Bronx

Glassjaw

The Offspring

Deftones

New Found Glory

OFWGKTA

Pulled Apart By Horses

Off!

DFA1979 ( although from reviews of thier gigs from mates, the crowd was shitty)

Mariachi El Bronx ( if they get announced)

The Cribs ( if they get announced)

Interpol

plus one or two gems that will no doubt appear on the FR stage. if i can get my hands on a cheap ticket then ill be there.

All the big festivals aren't doing anything for me this year, no huge bands I'm gagging to see and no great undercard with back to back bands I like. Download has a slim lead (imo) solely because of Rob Zombie & System and the only (probably) exclusive band at a fest I'm dyeing to see is Bosstones.

T In The Park has a great line up but you have to remember it's only two and a half days compared to three for the same price. This also means alot of acts clash which can be a bot of a nightmare.

Sad to say I think Reading and Leeds has one of the worst I've seen this year, along with Isle Of Wight. Don't get me wrong there's still more than enough to keep me occupied, but compared to some of the names other festivals have pulled out the bag, and the lack of exclusives, it's been a bit disappointing so far! (Here's hoping for some crackers on the FR stage)

Glastonbury, The Big Chill and Bestival all have amazing line-ups in my eyes. Rockness is pretty strong, as are Field Day, the Hop Farm and Latitude. Sonisphere and Download are not my area of expertise at all since I don't know anything about metal etc, but from what more-in-the-know friends have said the Sonisphere lineup is stunning. The T In The Park line-up is very strong but there's not really a lot of acts I'd want to see; can't fault them for their bookings this year though!

I really like sonispheres line up, not a metalhead at all but curious to see metallica and slipknot. Weezer + limp bizkit were particular highlights of reading last year plus some other gems such as house of pain, sum 41, mars volta. Also has the diversity of reading with comedians (bill bailey most notably, intrigued about stev-o)

Also like how someone suggested richard cheese was touring around the time of sonisphere to sonishperes facebook with the reply of somehing like 'really? Well look into that' next thing you know theyve booked him up. Thought that was pretty cool.
