I just like what I like. But then that could be my identity to music. So I only like Soundgarden because I identify with it, not because I choose to like it.

I think the assumption here is that it’s a band you should like due to them being popular, liked by “credible” people ie mates who know their shit, reviewers and publications you respect etc and bands that are of a style/genre you generally like – but for some reason, don’t.

Id like to have seen them back in the day but when I saw them at TITP (O7/08? not sure)it was like watching a poor Who tribute act. And Id come out of Primal Scream to watch them.

Even though I love bands that get messed up on alcohol and drugs and make good music (The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Guided By Voices, Ween etc.) as thier messy histories interest me, The Libertines just don't do it for me. I don't know what it is, I just really can't get into their music.
