Am I the only one who really really would of preferred the lock up stage on the Friday?

After The Offspring finish their set on the Friday, it might end up a buzzkill a bit for me. I'm not fussy. Music is music and I love it. Though, Beady Eye or anything on the dance stage doesn't really interest me. I can tolerate 30stm and MCR, but I am more of a hard rock/Metal/Punk listener then I am anything else, and MCR have never been my cup of tea. The Horrors seem interesting, though.

I'd be stuffed if the lock up was on the Friday - need it on the Sat/Sun to fill out the days - v little for me:

Sat - Jew / Glassjaw / Jane's Addiction / Yuck?

Sun - Frank Turner / Shikari / Muse (at a push)/ Panic (but were terrible last time) / WATO?

But happily to bear 30STM and MCR on the Fri and not have any main stage/lock up clashes.

Yeah, again ideally, there's more bands i wanna see on the pulp day, so that wouldve been ideal to have the dance tent for me. But having the lock up clash with bands like The OFfspring, Rise Against and New Found Glory would just be stupid.

So if people are saying 'After Offsping I have nothing to do'. Why are they all looking negatively at the Lock up change. Otherwise is would be a day full of clashes as most of those bands have a cross over appeal with the lock up.

They should be asking themselves this, Which is better, Two hours of nothing on one day or a whole day full of bands clashing, missing some bands what they will be able to see easily on the Sunday. Its a no brainer for me.

yeah but for me i have quite a few bands i want to see already on sat and sunday whereas friday is pretty bare. Plus i already have the massive headline clash of the strokes and Jane's addiction (JA all the way) and i love origin of symmetry so i'm going to hate having more bands to add to the clash orgy during the headline spots :P 30 secs to mars and MCR i despise, Beady eye are pretty weak, and unkle and the horrors dont really excite me so it would have been nice to see a lock up headliner for my preferences

Unfortunately they can't please everyone! I think everyone would agree that the way the line up has turned out that FR have done the right thing moving dance to Friday.

I'm a fan of MCR (not the wisest thing to announce on here, I know) and 30stm are okay and I'd give them a go.

But the Dance stage has got such a good line up, compaired to the Lock Ups, so theres going to be clashes. Huckdiggidy.

I agree with the placing of the Lock-up, the significantly heavier friday this year (bar the top two) would mean an absolute nightmare of clashes, for me, and the problem of a manic friday followed a very sporadic entrance to the arena for the rest of the weekend.

The most pressing issue (for me) is the lack of options on friday night, after a solid day of music the top on the main stage is just not to my taste. I would have preferred Janes's addiction and Beady eye to switch days, this would have allowed me to watch Jane's Addiction/Strokes/Descendent's rather than just milling around on Friday night.

My Friday is looking like

UNKLE Sounds

My Chemical Romance

Simian Mobile Disco

30 Seconds to Mars

Sub Focus

Nero

The Offspring

Deftones

Rise Against

The Naked and Famous

Miles Kane

The Blackout

Architects

Pulled Apart By Horses

I'll make decisions over clashing bands on a later date. I think during the day Friday is pretty strong, but I'm not too fond of any of the headliners. UNKLE Sounds will probably edge it for me because of the audio-visual thing they're doing. However on Saturday I actively want to see The Strokes, Jane's Addiction and the Bosstones, and on Sunday I want to see Muse, 2ManyDjs and Descendents, so I'm pretty gutted about that.
