grumpyhack
When I was at Glasto last year Mrs GH went away for week with her nieces and kids to a caravan site in Dorset near a village called Shatcombe. It's now become a family phrase for going to the loo - "Are you going to Shatcombe love?" In South Wales we have a village called Fochrhiw - pronounced Fock-Roo. The Centre for Alterrnative Technology in Mid Wales is in Machynlleth - pronounced Ma-c**t-Leth - as in 'If Typhoo put the T in Britain who put the chyn in Machynlleth?' But it's hard to beat good Somerset place names like Nempnett Thrubwell.
greenfairy43
I used to stay in a village in Burgundy, France. The next village down the road is called Orgy.
grumpyhack
This year the Trowbridge Festival which several of our Glasto Gang attend has been cancelled. So we've settled on another festival near Chagford in Devon called Chagstock. But I have to keep telling my mates it's pronounced Chagstock with a hard Ch and not Shagstock. llcoolphil
Not saying it was out of the way where you lived when we met, but it was just down the road from Worlds End. For years I've been passing Once Brewed but I've never received further instructions.
