call me an old git,but is this a rock band?????????????????????????????????????????????????

i can live with pendulum and all but ,f**k me, this is beyond belief.is this the only band called modestep out there?? have you got the right band?? what percentage of download punters listen to this???

Defo this act, Andy is bragging about the variety of act. To be fair to him I have seen a lot of people asking him to book a dubstep act, so hes just trying to please as many people as pos I guess

I quite like Modestep.

Theres tonne of similarities speaking technically between dubstep and metal... catchy riffs, ferocious bass lines and mental drums. plus I see loads of metal heads and the dubstep/drum n bass nights in this area, so i can understand the demand for it.

I mighta gone to watch them had I not already decided where I'll be on the Friday night.

It will piss some people off having an act like this on, but IMO its worth the risk. If it doesnt work, the organisers wont book them again. Simples. Remember 05 and the type of bands that were playing the Friday on the mainstage? Didnt work, and we haven't had a repeat of the indie/rock bands that were headlining that day on the main stage, the line ups stayed heavier since then.

fair enough,i've never been part of the devil horn throwing 'THATS NOT MMMEETTTTTAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!' gang,ive always listened to all types of rock/metal but this seemed a step too far.

Am I right in thinking that despite headlining they won't clash with Pendulum? Cos if they do that's just stupid.

They may clash a little, but pretty sure 4th stage finishes earlier than the other stages

Just noticed that Tek-One are on the Sonisphere line-up, they are a very similar act (and nice bunch of guys to go with it, live drum n bass)... Guess there must be a demand for it somewhere, Download is only trying to compete. Fair enough.

I'll still be at Pendulum though lol.

Not a fan of dubstep in any way, but my personal views aside;

Would they be on at the same time as pendulum? because that doesnt really make sense to me considering they'd be targeting a similar audience.. maybe i'm wrong.

As far as I can tell there would be some sort of clash, which sucks, coz I wouldnta minded checking them out. Sticking them on the Friday doesnt make any sense.
