Why is the Rockness Weekend so Busy?!

The weekend of Rockness is hellishly busy for festivals(46 according to efestivals), some that stand out to me:

Glade

Isle of White

Download

Parklife

Eden

Now to me Parklife, IOW & Glade to a lesser extent are in competition with us. Lets say for example an act plays Parklife on the Saturday and IOW on the Sunday, there is little or no chance we could get them.

Is there not another weekend we can have where we can have EVERYBODY we like?!

It's called saturation. There's far too many festivals these days. Saying that would love to go to nearly all of them!

and why is Rockness so busy?

short and sweet.. (because I'm running back to cab vol in a sec haha!)

- the setting

- atmosphere

- scottish banter

- not too big, not too small!

and of course,

some good bookings, great up and coming artists and even some great Scottish artists that need more attention!

It's the same with club nights as well at the moment - there's always loads of good DJs playing across Scotland but all on the same night or hellishly overpriced to see most of them!

It is actually insane how many club nights are competing.. Aberdeen night scene has really lifted off this last year. But you often find you go to these great bookings that they are bringing to the north, but finding only a half full venue, because they are up against someone else good elsewhere in the city! If they were different dates, you could have a full house and a much better atmos!
