Hi All,

A bit off track but saw David Ford doing his "How to Nearly Make it in the Music Industry" show last night in York and I managed to buy his book, get it signed and have a chat to him about festivals. I asked him why I never see him on any festival lineups and he said "I am available and up for it but i never get asked..."

...this is a real shame because he is a real talent and I think he would be perfect for the likes of End of the Road, Larmer Tree or Green Man. A proper singer/songwriter with something to say. A multi-instrumentalist and a Waits-eque warble in a powerful voice. I will recommend him again for next year's EotR.

Sofia/Simon...please ask him...I think he is seriously worthy of inclusion in our beautiful little festival.

For those of you that don't know him...his "famous" State of the Union video :)

Knuckles x

(Just saw in the book that he has been at Latitude a few times...still...not enough methinks)

I'm glad he's staring to get some exposure. I saw him supporting Jakob Dylan last year having never heard of him before and he was great, especially his live performance of State of the Union. I really wanted to see him again last night at the Borderline but it sold out ages ago.

I'd love to see him at EOTR and I'm pretty sure he was on my request list quite early on.

Totally agree..... we saw him at The Borderline on Monday, excellent musician, but also very engaging, very entertaining, and very funny - I enjoyed the readings from his book and his stories as much as the music!! :D

We didn't see him at Latitude last year, but after Geofelgie raved about him I looked him up on wiki..... only to find out that I'd seen him several times in the last 90s when he was in a band which was originally called Sheadley, then Sweater, then Beachy Head..... I'd gone along cos a friend of a friend was "with the band".... I mentioned this to him on Monday (whilst getting the book signed) and I think he was surprised that anyone remembered those early bands. As a bonus the friend of a friend was also at Monday's gig, so it was nice to catch up :)
