Dropkicks

I think since the Dropkicks aren't playing lock up, and haven't announced any UK dates on their tour around Europe in August, I think they could easily play the mainstage on the Friday. I'm thinking higher than Bring Me but around the same as Rise Against. What's everybodys thoughts on that? Is it possible? New album out, too. I personally think they're bigger than The King Blues, The Descendents (no, they haven't got a bigger legacy, perhaps) and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. Afterall, bands can't be expected to play the punk stage all the time. Maybe i'm too ambitious?

P.S: This is in response to the rumours that they were very likely to play Reading.

I too was surprised not to see them and I think they could have headlined, but bigger than Descendents or Mighty Mighty Bosstones? No way. Same size possibly, but not bigger. And are you saying that Descendents do or don't have a bigger legacy? Because they definitely do.

I said Descendents DO have a bigger legacy. And maybe i'm showing my young age a bit, but you really think The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are bigger than the Dropkicks? I mean, you are gonna find out about a new Dropkick album more than you would a new Bosstones album nowadays. I think the Bosstones haven't actually made an album for quite a few years now, and most of their more recognisable stuff was on Let's face it, which was late 90s or early 2000s. Meh, maybe i'm being defensive of a band I really like. I like the Bosstones, but I find it hard to believe that now they are bigger than the Dropkick Murphys in terms of sales and radio play.

I was more referring to Descendents that Bosstones. I'll agree that Bosstones aren't really known outside of their scene, even if they did practically create it, but I still think on influence and prestige alone Descendents are bigger than Dropcicks.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Dropcick Murphys there though!
