Anyone have any idea if Carling are still beer providers for this year?

Was having a look on their site and it doesn't look like the Local or the Amnesty will be there.

What festivals will The Carling Local be at?

The Carling Local will be at the Isle of Wight Festival 10-12 June, and V Festival (Chelmsford and Stafford) 20-21 August.

What's happened to the Cold Beer Amnesty?

After six years The Cold Beer Amnesty will be taking a break in 2011.

Since I hate Carling, I wouldn't mind if there was a change this year. Not sure what it would be though...

Carling is a crap beer but if it is replaced by something like Tuborg, I won't be purchasing it at all.

Joking aside I'd much prefer Tennents to Tuborg or Carling but no doubt it'll be Tuborg as they seem to do alot of the big fests.

It's weird though, you think by now they've have announced it and it would be at the bottom of the site next to the other sponsors. I noticed WKD is there though.

Carling isn't great but any time I've had Tuborg at a fest it's been rank so I'd prefer Carling

Would drink Tennants but due to TITP I highly doubt it, Tuborg is the worst premium lager I've ever tasted...Fosters maybe also dissapointing... :angry:

Could be becks with all the music promotion they have going.

Could be really dreadful and go for miller.

Beck's would be fantastic! Can't see it being Miller, they don't seem to do it on draft anymore in pubs.

If I had my way every bar would have Crabbies Ginger Beer on draft. I can't imagine anything that would make me happier!

if its not tuborg and gaymers i'll be very surprised. these 2 brands have pretty much homed in on the UK festival market.

Solution: Drink the real ale from Howards end! Strangely only available in there, the Black Isle blond lager last year was a stunning beer! If that had'nt have been there i dont know what i'd have drunk, probably nothing!! or a bit of my own smuggled in.

I assume that they hope if we're forced to drink it at festivals we will all magically just buy it any other time.

I never used The Amnesty either but The Carling Local was pretty decent last year in the early hours.

Just its a good idea and it will be missed believe me, and I don't really get what the deal is with the "oh am no drinking that" mob waking up with killer droogh there is no better cure than ANY cold beer

i could see it being tuborg since they seem to be at a lot of festivals.

i really hope they bring back gaymers cider, it was shite having strongbow last year because it tastes shite, and they wouldn't allow any other cider
