Madame Tussauds

I went past Madame Tussauds yesterday, and there was the usual long queue to get in...

Does anyone here understand why people would queue up to pay £28 (!!) to see some wax (or whatever they're made of) dummies?

I'm at Westminster Uni across the road and see them lining up everyday.... also have no real idea why, I guess so people can get a photo looking like they are standing next to someone who they'll never meet

You should see the one in Blackpool (Lois Tussauds i think) - whilst there's NEVER a queue outside it, the waxworks look like something a 5 year old could do with plastecine. Unless, of course, the only celebrities on display are morph and his family....

I remember going when I was young and finding it pretty frightening, either because of the atmosphere of the Chamber of Horrors, or because of some of the figurines. TO be honest I can't remember them being that bad. But thinking about it, really don't know why I'd go there again

Maddame Tussaud's is ok, I think I've picture's of me as a kid with Arnie, ET and strangely Desmond Tutu.

Been to Lois Tussaud's in Blackpool as well, all I can remember from it was the gruesome car crash scene in the Chamber Of Horrors.

Shame I've never been to the one in Great Yarmouth, I'd love to find out who the f**k this is.

I think it could be Ted Danson at the back right but I can't be sure.

I work at the Madame Tussauds in London quite a bit and think the figures are a million times better than the ones on the previous page. I can't figure out how to post photos but they really are a lot better than the comedy ones already posted on here.

I think there's a bit of cache for the celebs to have a waxwork in madam tussauds and, consequently, they'll go along there to have impressions taken and for 'fittings' and suchlike whereas nobody famous is interested in having their effigy on display in blackpool or great yarmouth. As such, these provincial places are working from photographs and suchlike so i guess they can't be expected to meet the standards of madam tussauds.
