rachbon
just under 5 weeks to go now and the only thing i've bought is a tent, so need to start buying the second most important thing, booze! i'm thinking bottle of merrydown for the bus 2 bottles of passoa poured into a 2 litre of bottle for the friday night. 24 cans of gaymers pear 1 litre of vodka that can be poured into wee bottles and sneaked into the arena what drink is everyone else taking? Ali1874
Will probably just take the same as last year. 35cl bottle of vodka mixed into plastic coke bottles for the bus 2x 20 crates of Budweiser 1 litre of vodka put into bottles of kick/energy drink Can never tell how much I'm going to drink at festivals so would rather take too much than not enough. Might take less beer though and more spirits.

punkincowcat
Hey! In previous years I just took myself a 3 litre box of red wine which lasted me all weekend, just! but I found it quite hard to stomach after the first couple nights.. so this year I think a change of booze may be in order! I came across Petrov (sold at ASDA I believe) which is a 35cl pouch of vodka so I think I will be taking two of these with a 2 litre bottle of mixer! I may also take a crate of beer or even just go for another spirit such as Jack Daniels or Gordons And then finally probably some good old wine but just not as much as a 3 litre box full! TheAmalfiGlow
As a Rockness newbie, would welcome any advice on taking drinks around the site. Is the fest a Glastonbury-style 'take it wherever you like' or a Tartan Heart 'search and destroy'?!

your_music_made_me_mad
Westons over Gaymers any day of the week. Westons do perry (pear) but not sure how easy west country stuff is to source in scotland,so check http://www.westons-cider.co.uk/ How's about a tasting sesssion before hands? Last fest i went to in preseli mountains in wales i took farmbrew from forest of dean, it came in recycled mineral water plastic bottles Non-fizzy cloudy 7-8% alcoholic beverages perfect for festivals because A - don't matter if they get thrown about (no fizz to loose) B - don't matter if they get warm C - they look like juice n will pass the bouncer tests Weatherall n Westons the perfect combo Country Boy x
gordong
They search everyone unfortunately :/ This also causes massive queues just before big acts come on, we were stuck in the queue for like 20 minutes before Bloody Beetroots and I think Vitalic was just about to come on aswell. Booze can be snuck in though, it's not impossible. Be prepared to lose whatever your trying to sneak in though, cause they just chuck in straight in the bins if they catch you with it - lost a good few cans trying this
Elbear
I agree with above, although last year they literally took everything including water, which I thought was ridiculous. A hip-flask in the wellies should be alright though

KeithDelBasso
Think i'm gonna have to re-think my strategy this year - spirits are just no use for me at festivals. I never seem to able to pour the right measure and little plastic cups are pretty useless! Think i'll go for a 24 crate of strongbow and a 3 litre box of white wine. Final drink is yet to be decided. Might be tempted to try some of the above mentioned cider. Even a wee box of smirnoff ice/kopperberg/wkd to help cure the early morning hangovers but all would be glass bottles, which isn't allowed on site hmmm... davetherave_to_grave
Hardly any one searched us 2 years ago, it was a like a free for all. We sneaked in tons of booze but last year i think i lost a few cans and a box of wine. Thought at the time i could pull off the beer belly look by placing wine under my t-shirt and pretending i had a huge gut. Problem was my "gut" was very squidgey when it came to the padding down. Girls, you can pretend your preggers and get cocktailed drinks in that way... security will beleiev you! Bottle of Rum Slab of Cider Litre of Wine and possibly some Jager for good measure. SilverLining
first time heading up to rockness. how long is it in terms of distance is the walks from campsite-arena and bus-campsite? i take it is no where as near as bad as the likes of T. Heard theres no point attempting to sneak drink into the arena as you can easily walk between campsite and arena. any help?
