Comedy Stage

Has anyone else heard that there will be a Comedy/Alternative stage at V this year?

I'm sure I read it somewhere but can find no reference to it anywhere now. Was it just an obscure dream that has crossed over in to my version of reality?!

V Festival Staffordshire shares the same bill as Chelmsford which runs simultaneously on the penultimate weekend in August. The Comedy stage is being booked at the moment but I would not expect any huge names. They will be very good comics that will have played all the regular comedy venues like the Comedy Store. There may be a hypnotist that has regularly played Reading and Leeds festival.

Alan Carr will headline it I'm guessing, He's touring and the close tie between V and C4 might make it reality

Dont expect anythin huge like Alan Carr, Peter Kay as the stage will only be a tent the size of the Union or even smaller

Errm just to clarify the stage is sponsored by the comedy club 'Glee Club' they don't mean Glee as in the tv show If you check their website out www.glee.co.uk you can see what kind of acts to expect!

I would be surprised if it's anyone of any note. V doesn't like spending any extra money on the festival. Once they sell out it's just the music and very little else. They have the least amount of alternative entertainment I have seen at a festival. The indie disco on the Friday is as good as it gets and that's just some random DJ's playing music from the bands playing that weekend.

The fact they wont even put on a 3rd day on when every other festival does speaks volumes!!

They will never think about value for money whilst it keeps selling out.

there was an act called hypo-dog that was scheduled to played leeds in 2005 when i was there, but never turned up. I hope they book hypo-dog as ive always wondered what they/it would do lol

I have a feeling its not going to happen. They said over a month ago now "line up announced in two weeks" and still nothing. Seems a little to close to the festival now to be releasing a whole stage's line up?
