Anyone travelled on megabus wih all fesival stuff?

Hi all,

We are looking a getting megabus from Sheffield to Reading this year, but a bit concerned about the luggage limits. Has anyone travelled with big festival rucksacks, chairs, campbeds, sleeping bags etc and a tent?

We did think of getting an extra ticket but don't know if theyd let us use it for luggage!

Anyway, anyone done it? had any bother etc?

Never heard of this magic 'megabus' before but it sounds.... mega!? implying that it would be more than capable of carrying all your festival goodies!

Altenatively you could go to leeds? so much closer to you haha!

Every year myself and my mates get a 40 minute regular bus to Reading with all our stuff and we just fill up the back row and the luggage racks! Locals are either puzzled, grumpy or, like one sweet 70somethingyearold, trying to convince us to let them come! Not sure the 'megabus' works in the same way as regular buses though - might be a good idea to give them a call? Maybe they have undercarriage luggage hold?

Megabus is just a coach, so there will be a undercarriage luggage hold.

You'd be fine and long as you aren't taking more than the equivalent of two average sized suit cases. Best to give them a ring though.

Thanks guys, but the issue isn't whether they will have a luggage hold, which it almost certainly will, but the fact that we will blatantly have more than 2 standard size suitcases, they will be large rucksacks with camping chair, bed and sleeping bag attached, plus a 4 man tent.... hence our concern, and wondering whether anyone else had had any bother on megabus or had seen anyone else having bother.
