eFestivals
The one headliner I'm praying for is daft punk, what are the chances? zero as a main headliner. They're simply not big enough.

swede
I'd agree with the above poster, first was the best then third then second. They seem to have about 4 good songs an album and a lot of fillers, but they would draw a big crowd I think, although it's hardly an inspired booking seen as in 2012 they will be all over the place I reckon
radish
With this - http://www.queenextravaganza.com/ - and Roger Taylor saying Queen may reform for the Olympics and/or play again in 2012, I'm saying my earlier crap about Queen at Glasto might not be that unlikely after all. Not saying it's likely, just that it might happen. In a kind of H2G2 way, something that's infinitely improbable is therefore finitely probable and will subsequently definitely happen. Just saying I can see the attraction of Queen at a festival like Glastonbury, although something in Hyde Park is probably more likely I admit. I'll get my coat... NeilVJ
But without Mercury it's not Queen though and without Mercury they are no bigger than a novelty slot

Messy
Radiohead, Kanye and someone that I don't like Would be perfection for me. Not totally unrealistic, is it?
gazza_20
Is Biffy as Other stage same time as say GaGa realistic or is it now a case of they play again, they headline?
russycarps
May I ask why?
thesecretingredientiscrime
I just dont think they are considered anything like a "big" act these days, by the average glasto goer or by the people booking the stage. I think the time for them to get a decent slot at glasto has long passed. I would love to be proved wrong on this.
eFestivals
Really?! They're the biggest dance act in the world though?! Perhaps. But defo not the biggest in the UK.

eFestivals
Maybe not the biggest but they're still one of the biggest here. They're easily big enough to headline the other stage. yeah, tho that probably has more to do with the rarity value of their live performances than as true measure of their popularity. They're well off the radar of most people who see most of the bands on that stage tho - like most acts whose peak was the best part of 10 years back. mrtourette
In terms of a mainstream festival audience I'd say Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim and if you wanted to count them as dance (which a mainstrem festival crowd probably would) The Prodigy. eFestivals
Along with mrtoutette's names, Pendulum probably beat DP, and even possibly Example too. Things have moved on. For the younger part of today's audience, the likes of DP will have barely registered.
rexclark
If Daft Punk were to play then I would say they'd be Other Stage headliners. Looking at a few acts who've headlined in the last few years and who are of a similar style. I would say Daft Punk have a much broader appeal than say Underworld or Orbital and alot more well known hits.
The Nal
Who's bigger? I can't think of any Dance act anywhere near their size in the UK, possibly Hot Chip, that's at a push.
pc3036
is it possible that if there is no "dance" act big enough at the time to headline a stage (Pyramid and other), then there won't be a dance act headlining the stage
russycarps
I think they got a resurgence in interest with the Tron soundtrack, I know plenty of people who recently thought they'd tour with it and were willing to fork out for tickets to see them, including a lot on non-festival/gig goers. Plus they've got a brilliant live reputation.
