Why the hell do Leeds get to see the Nirvana 1992 film and not Reading? Swines!

More acts and films have been announced for the line up for the The Alternative Stage at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.

Joining the likes of Mark Thomas, Russell Kane, Tim Minchin, Henry Rollins, Lee Nelson, Mark Watson, Rubberbandits and Andrew O'Neill on the Alternative Stage bill are hip-hop rapper Dizraeli, and Tom Wrigglesworth appearing at Leeds on Friday, and Reading on Sunday, and Scots comic Rob Rouse appearing at Leeds on Friday and Reading on Saturday.

Confimred to appear at Reading only on Friday is Stephen Williams, with Daniel Sloss appearing on Saturday.

Late night sleazy discotheque Future Disco will be coming to Leeds only to close Friday night with special guest DJs until the early hours. Also confirmed for Leeds on Friday is Mike Bubbins.

Leeds on Saturday hosts Dry The River, Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit, Pete And The Pirates, Danny McLoughlin, and Deadcat Bounce.

Whilst on Sunday Abandoman, Gar Murran, Jimmy Mcghie, and Roisin Conaty will appear at Leeds.

A new collaboration from Future Cinema with Guillemots offers Leeds audiences on Thursday night a fusion of cinema and sound as the band play live to very special secret film. Ahead of the feature presentation, sister-organisation Future Shorts present a series of specially selected shorts from across the Globe including surreal Animations 'Bonefeather & Sam's Hot Dogs', music videos from REM & El Guincho, and much more.

Other films shown include 'Fight For Your Right Revisited' the Beastie Boys film showing at Leeds on Saturday and Reading on Sunday, the 'Nirvana 92 Live at Reading' film showing at Leeds on Friday, with the 'PJ Harvey Shorts' a series of films to accompany all 12 songs from her latest album 'Let England Shake' also showing at Leeds on Friday.

I watched the Beastie Boys film online recently, it's actually pretty funny. Basically it's a load of famous comedians/actors playing out an extended version of the 'Fight For Your Right' video. Seth Rogan, Danny McBride and Elijah Wood play the Beastie Boys.
