A bit of music from one of the most influential, but under-appreciated, figures in popular music Tim Rose. This is Hey Joe (Blue Steel 44) which Rose passed to Chas Chandler for a first song for Jimi Hendrix. And the rest was history.

Rose was a folkie from the 60s who played with Mama Cass Elliot and introduced her to the others who eventually made up the Mamas and Papas.

He was a lovely man and I remember having a drink with him after his last concert in Cardiff. He died a couple of weeks later.

I don't think I can make the point like Jayne Mansfield so here's one to take home for the kids.
