Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Ive just got my TEFL Scotlaqnd pack with info through the door and my ILA info (in Scotland - gives you £200 towards a part time/evening type course if you earn under £22k)

I've thought of doing this for years, and have a degree which a lot of placements seem to ask for now-a-days. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do this. My girlfriends off to Canada for a year and I won't miss my job :-p

I've been speaking with family and friends and get looks of 'wtf' when I show reservations on it. My mum even said that due to the fact places ask for degrees that 'at least you can use it for something'

I'm thinking of doing the full TEFL Scotland course to get me as much training and information as possible (may give me a bit of a lead on the CV too) and I think I need to brush up on grammar as well a bit.

Has anyone ever done this before? Where did you teach? Any general info or interesting facts?
