Hi all, will be my first time at sonisphere this year.

was wondering how it works with the 'inner pit' there? Is everybody free to come & go all day (like at glastonbury Festival Pyramid stage) or is it like at Milton Keynes bowl where the first 5000 or so in get exclusive access for the rest of the day? Went to see the Foo's there the other day & was pretty gutted by this set up,couldnt get there till a bit later due to work commitments so missed out :(

Hey Benstormer, welcome! This is only my second Soni, but there is no problems like there, the way that it is set up with the Saturn and Apollo stages at opposite ends of the "field" the bands alternate so there is no clashes between the stages, this means that most people are going back and fore between the stages all day, the only ones who camp down the front are the real hardcore fans of the headliners who don't realise how much they are missing out on by staying there! I wandered around all over the place last year and still managed to get up close for Rammstein and Maiden without any problems, have a great festival and I'll see you down the front!

This will be my first Soni too but I like the sound of the alternating stages (my nephew recommended it to me!!). Means I don't have to choose between bands as you have to do at most festivals. Fingers crossed for weather as rain can be a killer!!

When the first Soni was announced I was a complete non-believer, never thought they could pull it off, specially up against Download, but last years lineup convinced me to give it a go, and I was really surprised how well it worked and now I'm heading back for another go! The only thing I will say is that I found the sound quite a bit weaker on the Saturn stage than on the Apollo stage.

Easy as it is to stroll between the two main stages, don't forget the smaller stages, I caught some great bands I had never heard before on those last year. I'm just gutted that Blaas of Glory wont be there again this year :(
