The Glasto scorcard 2011 - RESULTS

Ta - You're right that I meant that over half hasn't used the new system

But it was 39% of those who indicated that they'd used it that felt the old system was better. That means that 61% felt it was an improvement or weren't fussed.

It's not a huge endorsement but neither is it a rejection. I'm shocked that over half of people hadn't used it (there were quite a few people who skipped that question too, I'm guessing because they didn't use it.)

I know it was never the intention to provide a detailed survey of this, but it can be easy to misinterpret and draw conclusions influenced by personal opinion.

For example, of the 54% who didn't use the "queueing system" there could be a group of people who did go into the late night area, but before the cut-off time. They may well be happy with the overall system but still possibly have answered that the didn't use the queues.

I see what you are saying although that wasn't my intention - Of the acts I saw it is the only one where the average score seems to be out of line with my opinion and, having seen Morrissey nearly 20 times, I know for a fact that it was actually a pretty good performance (a very good performance for him in a field - he definitely prefers old theatre-style venues and performs best in these) and all I was saying was that, as was evidenced on these boards in the run up, people had built up his "potential" performance to be something truly spectacular (loads of people (including me) speculated about Johnny turning up for a couple of songs and that Moz would go all-out to blow U2 away) and felt a little bit disappointed by him merely giving one of his best ever festival performances.

I hope that makes sense - I wasn't trying to suggest that Moz should be measured by a different stick to everyone else; he is, of course, but that's the price he has to pay for being in many people's favourite band of all time.

Oh dear, rather enjoyed Chipmunk myself. Blame it on being the first act I'd seen, my son enjoying it a lot, being very near the front, not raining, in a good mood and other excuses I can't think of yet.

Fascinating stuff.

Well done budvar!

I'm obviously coming across as a lunatic! I'm really not worried about it, I just made an observation that seems to have come across wrong (lunatic) then tried to explain the observation and, once again, I've come out as a lunatic!

I totally understand why some people didn't like it. I guess I would just hate it if people thought he was bad by his standards and turned up to another one of his festival appearances expecting much more. I only gave him a 9 because he IS capable of better (JM being on stage would have been an 11, obviously) but not much better at a festival - and he scored that high because he makes me that happy!

Good to see the Correspondents in the top ten. Best Festival act ever. Surprised more people don't know about them - everyone who's seen them that I've spoken to, without exception, thinks they are a great live act.

Wow 'The Correspondence' are incredible... haha, that's f**kin' dreadful music. One of the worst bands I've heard in my life..

Maybe they'll headline Glasttonbury in 2013 with Pulp!

This is exactly the sort of shit I'd expect to see on almost every stage at Glastonbury.. Crap music everywhere you turn!

Apologies for the delay, but the spreadsheet can be accessed here:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ArhmezzLBhzBdE4xUkNCZl9abHFOZnRxSnltUFpDYkE&hl=en_US

I've had to copy it into Google Docs so it doesn't contain the original scores (which were on different sheets) but it does have all the topline data.

Hopefully it's fairly easy to use; column E is the rank amongst all acts, while column G is the rank amongst acts with at least 5 ratings. D gives you teh average score.

There's some summarys to the side.

Enjoy!
