Headliner Status

I was reading on the Glasto forums how it's the same headliners that are getting repeated every year at the major festivals.

Likes of Coldplay, Foos, Muse, Kasabian, The Prodigy, Radiohead etc etc. You know what I mean.

Who do you think will be next to reach headliner status???

After only 1 album Mumford must still be at least 2 decent efforts away yet. I have a feeling that the bubble with them is due to burst soon, it's all down to the next album. Think Florence is in the same position, time will tell !!!

Avenged Sevenfold

Paramore

are my two that are ready to step up.

Dizzee Rascal has headlined festivals already, can't see him becoming a main stage headliner at TITP, V, Reading however.

Mumford and Sons had a successful debut album but they haven't even done an arena tour, they're no where near big enough to headline festivals yet

Pendulum are getting there, but I don't think they will headline a festival just yet, maybe in a few years if they have another strong album

Elbow have too narrow a market IMO to headline

Florence could stepo up if her second album does the business and expands her market, depends on the release date, where she ends up next year on the bill. Shes headlined Lattitude already though.

Thought about Paramore but don't think they have the bigger well known songs needed to headline !! Agree about Flo, sadly I don't see any real exciting acts coming in to claim the headline spots at present !!! That said am glad the RHCP are coming back good to have someone else to add to the stale bunch of year in year out headliners !!

its very rare festival organisers take a risk with headliners. Arcade fire last year at reading, muse at glasto a while back but other than that no one takes a risk.

can see 2 door cinema club going to headline status in a couple of albums.
