I like the way that the music industry has tried to replace miming (generally a dismissive phrase) with lip-synching, a description that attempts to suggest a skill. If someone can't be sure of coping live then replace them with someone who can.

Are we sure shes miming? Ive rewatched it and still can't tell.
a spokesman for the military band that's doing the music said it was mimed, but later withdrew the comment.

So while there's a very good reason to suspect that it was mimed, it might not have been.

Having seen it, it's bloody good miming if it's miming - it's much better than anyone on Top of the Pops ever managed.

The debate rages, seems that the music was definitely a tape

Brilliant comment from Piers Morgan at the bottom, that guy really is a cock of the highest magnitude.

TV presenter Piers Morgan said: "Beyonce still SANG it, everyone. It was HER voice."

The corporate machine wouldnt have let her first public sing since dropping the sprog go to chance. No way thats live.

I'd taken it as read that whenever there is a big public event that isnt specifically music the chances are its mimed/ pre-recorded/ lip-synced (whatever the difference is). Is it not too difficult to gt the sound right/ instruments set up in a very short period of time? Been this argument about things like the superbowl half time etc. for years.
