I've heard 6 of them. I enjoyed Build A Rocket Boys the most on reflection, but that's partly because it sounded mint when I saw them in March.

I'd probably vote for Metronomy, but if they are going to let someone win twice, you can bet it would be PJ Harvey

I can't admit to hearing all of these albums, but of the ones I have listened to, Anna Calvi gets my vote. A great voice, amazing guitar work and a really great album.

Can't say I'm really interested. I enjoyed the Elbow album and I like what I've heard from Everything Everything but I haven't really heard many of the other albumsmuch is my interest in new music really.

That time of the year again where I'm completely baffled as to why this prize and ceremony gets any attention. Can someone explain it to me? Its the saddest most un rock and roll thing in modern music. Industry lead nonsense. "The Barclaycard Mercury Prize". For f**ks sake.

Robert Wyatt called it a disgrace or something a few years back. I'm with him.

Im gonna be upset if anyone but ghostpoet wins it. Peanut butter blues and melancholy jam has been my life for the past couple of months.

Would reccomend to anyone who likes dub/rap - a bit like roots manuva but not as dance-y.
