Joseph92
Just wondering if there could be any surprise acts playing/secret sets? And if so who would be likely? Also I had a thought. Miles Kane often plays with the Arctic Monkeys and is a close friend of them. The new Arctics B-side features Miles Kane. Any chance Alex Turner might turn up to do a few songs with him? That's the only person I could think of.
Bisque
F**k all. It's not Glastonbury.
iPaulo xD
+ Arctics are headlining V
fantomas
Only 'secret show' I remember is 2009 with Them Crooked Vultures. It wasn't too much of a suprise at Reading, when they had already done the same slot at Leeds the day before
therefused
there are a few empty slots on the clashfinders, so potentially yes. its best to wait until the week before the fest though, when the official times go up you will be able to see wether there are any massive gaps in the timetable then. mrtourette
I doubt the Arctics would do anything with Miles Kane due to their alleged disdain towards R&L. Chino from Deftones and the actor who sings in 30STM might share the stage at some point as they have in the past and The National sometimes get friends from lower down the bill to play with them on the odd song but I think that'll be it. Seasick Steve will probably have John Paul Jones playing with him but that's been the case all Summer so it's not much of a surprise. gazza_20
Kaiser Chiefs a few years back were a surprise BBC or NME stage act

Ashl
There will probably be some surprise appearances on the BBC Introducing Stage but they are normally acts already on the lineup I believe doing a second set.

jump
NoFX played a secret set last year & I think Pigeon Detectives played one too. There was also a rumour a few years back that Foos were going to play one (not the year FFers played) but pulled out as Grohl was ill or something. mrtourette
Yeah Foos were due to play a secret set at Reading in the same place on the bill that Kaiser Chiefs played Leeds but they pulled out. I think Pigeon Detectives played the Thursday night at Leeds one year, TCV at both sites in 2009 and NoFX at Reading last year.
Buko
There's usually always a special guest in the years that I've being going. 2007 - Kaiser Chiefs (Leeds Only) 2008 - Pigeon Detectives (Leeds Only) 2009 - Them Crooked Vultures (Leeds / Friday . Reading / Saturday) 2010 - Gallows (Leeds / Friday . Reading / Saturday), NOFX Lock Up Stage (Reading Only) God knows who It could be this year, but we didn't know about TCV until It happened. mrtourette
I think Gallows playing last year was known as well, I remember someone explaining on here why the name The Rats meant it was going to be Gallows but I forget what it was now. 2rare2die
I spotted them supporting Sick Of It All as The Rats and someone else explained the name was due to one of their songs goes "We are the Rats and we run this town..." I've gone to a few of their shows where they play under a different name as they just like playing small venues.
jump
Yep, it's from London Is The Reason, great song. I've still got a feeling that Gallows could pop up somewhere during the weekend due to the situation with Frank Carter, and their obvious affection for the festival, could be totally wrong though
huntyyy
I remember before people were saying there was a slot Main stage friday still to be filled? or is it just accepted that they're all having longer sets this year?
2rare2die
I was thinking the same thing but he's given a specific leaving date (which I found strange when he could just say he's leaving after these shows) and it's a couple of weeks before the fest.
