markeee
I've got a 360 and was considering getting kinect and that UFC personal trainer to do the workouts as a form of cardio..i find cardio be it running or sitting on the bike in the gym..so dull anyyway, just wondered if anyone has it already and what they thought? I've heard mixed opinions, some say it's a joke and pretty crap as any kind of workout really?
t8yman
I dont have any experience of that particular title, but my wife regularly uses Kinect Zumba (which is a f**king awfully made game that sold shitloads) the body tracking isnt great, but she does it with the same effort she uses at actual zumba classes, and she gets a pretty good workout. I'd say it should be effective. I know that Kinect sports can make me sweat!
Hello... I'm Johnny Cash
Never used UFC Personal Trainer but I regally use EA Sports Active 2 and despite my initial scepticism (that came from the utter non work out that is Wii Fit), I have to say it's fantastic. It's a PROPER work out & I say that as someone that before I bought it was running 10 miles 4 times a week & for the first 2-3 weeks it was leaving me stiff for days afterwards. It still does a bit. I'm in the same boat as you in the sense that I find the gym really tedious & dull, but I really enjoy doing this. It changes the exercise every 2-3 minutes so you never get chance to get bored. Anyway, highly recommended - but if you do get it you need to turn off voice commands otherwise it keeps pausing itself which is very irritating & install the game to the hard disk to reduce the loading times between exercises which are slightly excessive when coming from the disk & you’re stood there feeling your legs seizing up. t8yman
No, body tracking on some titles is superb, penalty kicks on kinect sports is amazing. Some titles do it better than others and zumba is f**king awful. Edited July 31, 2011 by t8yman
Sparticus
I heard that the Kinect device itself is pretty poor - when you say body tracking would that be an issue with the Kinect? Could be what people meant, on some gamers site saying the Kinect isnt great ? and umm when you say body tracking does this have much of an affect on using the Kinect + some fitness title as a workout?! I guess like youd still be doing the workout and the Kinect and the game or or fitness package aren't picking up what you're doing is what you mean!? - I've never used Kinect/wii before!
