photos or avatars? help me decide

The latest version of the forums software has just been released, and I'm going thru a test upgrade process to see what issues I might encounter.

The first issue I've found is that, after the upgrade, there'll only be one picture associated with a user's profile.

The upgrade process allows me to choose whether to use people's avatars as their new single profile picture, or to use their current profile picture (which may or may not be a face photo of that user).

I'd like to know which option you'd like me to take when I do the upgrade. What's decided here by the poll will be what I do.

(the upgrade itself probably won't happen for at least 3 weeks from now).

avatars all the way. i find forums with the users photo a bit creepy tbh.

I prefer avatars , although when I use the forum on the iPhone I always see the users photo...

Avatar for forum pic, keep user photos to their user profile. Makes it more fun when meeting in the real world anyway. As an article in the news today talked about some people can be profiled by what avatar they use, I for certain associate the avatar with the user/person and some are just downright hilarious or inventive. Not sure if the article is wholly relevant to how we use our avatars on here but here it is:
