Pick up/drop off point

Do not attempt to drop off or pick up anywhere near Richfield Avenue. Follow the AA road signs to the pick up/drop off point. Once at Kings Meadow, you should follow the signs to the boats and get the free shuttle boat service to the site.

- Private hire drop off/pick up is now on Cremyll Road, off Tessa Road.

- Hackney Carriages/black cabs drop off/pick up is in Tessa Road.

- Parents/friend drop off/pick up is at Kings Meadow.

Garrard Street NCP car park, opposite Reading Train Station, is available for weekend parking (price TBC) You can then use the shuttle bus that leaves from outside the train station, which costs just £1.

You will find there is security/stewards checking on the road just before you reach Rivermead Centre carpark and even more as you turn in - even if you do get in they have a one way system in action so it could be a long drop off.

On my travels over the years I have spotted loads who pull up by the side of the road { the type that will park in disabled car parking spaces I suspect } and if they are quick they can get away with it but it is a no stopping area and Police do patrol the area.

I work at the festival so when I drive I normally arrive Tuesday/Wednesday but I have to pass the Rivermead Centre but my car is displaying a staff pass so I have

never had any problem with queues

Be it Wednesday or any other day there is security/stewards on duty and they do have a few check points but people do get away with it - it really depends how much a brass neck a person has
