I've been going to V every year since '98 - and I honestly don't think this year was any different to the last 3, 4 or 5 years! It is not a scratch on what it was 6 years ago +

I will never camp anymore. I stay in a local hoteland have been fortunate enough to go VIP for the last 4 years.

If I didn't have the escape of the these two luxuries over the course of the weekend then I certainly would not go.

I went for a day trip to Stafford on the Saturday, and had a great time but could see why camping would be a problem. Thought there was a pretty good party atmosphere all day. Though could imagine it not being as good at night.

I saw a good mix of bands, though its clear that while the balance of music is there, the balance of people seeing it isnt. I saw OCS, Manics, Courteeners and Primal Scream, with the latter two having amazing crowds, despite the Scream's crowd being quite small! It was pretty much deserted in the 4Music field at that time.

I did however enjoy a singalong to Scouting For Girls, liked Eliza Doolittle and actually thought Rihanna was amazing (was far back and had had a few ciders!). I liked the fact it was so balanced. However....

Its turned into a kiddie event I'm afraid mate. Immature little pricks who think throwing a bottle and shouting Alan all weekend is having fun. Personally I think V will go full circle and next year we will see a return of the decent bands and crowd it attracted a few years ago. I decided last year I'd had enough but got a last minute ticket this year. Very similar to last year, but I still enjoyed it. Just gotta ignore the co*ks...
