lilyallenatemyhamster
What a horrible place V has become. It is an excuse for all the pondlife/chavs of Essex to behave like c@nts for a few days. Makes me embarrased to come from Essex some of the things I saw. I will never go to this so called festival again.

danlen
I stayed away this year due to the type of crowd that would be attracted to the crap lineup. Eminem, Rhianna, Ndubz, wretch 32, Jessie J, Dizzee (although would like to see him), Olly f*****g murrs etc etc.... you know the ones! Full of crap "hip hop" pop & xfactor acts = chavs, kiddies who cant handle there juice. If the lineup is similar next year then it will be IOW, Latitude for me C4's coverage made it worse with 4 hours of tv coverage and only played the above type acts. Wolf 359
Danien got it spot on about the TV coverage - you would never know that the likes of Cast, The Enemy, Morceeba, Lost Prophets, Good Charlotte, Fun Lovin' Criminals (the band not the crowd!), Glasvegas (okay only three full songs) even played. I heard on Absolute radio that nearly a THOUSAND people needed treatment for sickness/cuts/injuries etc through too much booze at Hylands and over that amount at Weston !!!! Rewind at Henley for us next year me thinks. A hell of a lot cheaper and no sodding CHAVS. Blondie, Specials, Village People, Spandau, Toyah, they were the days. lilyallenatemyhamster
Hidden beneath all the dross was actualy a few decent bands but the number of Chavs/W@nkers has made my mind up never to go again. Also I think half the idiots didn't even care about the music, just there to get as drunk as possible.

kookye
I said after 2009 that I would never go again due to the shit lineup and increasing number of twats just wanting to get drunk, but the line up seemed decent this year so I went. the main act I wanted to see dropped out (Duran Duran) then when the schedule was released all the bands I wanted to see clashed so I was left with huge gaps between sets with nothing to do. Plus £18 for 2 burgers and chips is tantamount to bum rape. Never again.
MOLLYJESS
Have to say I totally agree - couldn't believe how aggressive the crowd were when trying to get past people even to go to the loo!! I did have a good weekend, the Wombats being the highlight for me, but it certainly was the worst V fest I have been to - Sunday night in yellow camp was just awful, if I hadn't been drinking all day I would have packed up in the dark and gone home - I just wanted to get away from all the total idiots shouting and swearing all night all I could here were chants of "burn mother F&*$%er burn" - what's that all about!! I said to my hubby that would be my last V, but the thing is we go with such a great group of people, we are 44 and 45 and the girls we go with are in their 20s, and we have such a laugh with them, I will wait and see what the line up is next year until I make my decision - but I think I will come home on Sunday next year just in case!! Another thing, some girl slapped my husband in the face as we were trying to get back to our friends during the Script and then started abusing him because he had a go at her for slapping him!! never ever had anything like that before - such a young, immature crowd. Funkyfairy!
I think I must have avoided all the idiots (or ignored them) I didn;t camp so can't comment on the camp sites, and didn;t see any Rap (with a silent C) - saw Ziggy Marley, Fun Loving Criminals, Enemy (outstanding), Kaisers, Artics, OCS, SFG, Hurts, Manics, Morcheeba and the atmosphere all seemed OK and quite fun .........the only trouble I saw was during Rihanna
Tarquin
My daughter went to V for the first time this year and had to jump in the shower as soon as she got in as she stank of piss that was continously being thrown. This seems to happen every year but nothing is done to prevent it. I sincerely hope that a situation develops that puts this on the front pages. ronnieriley
totally agree with you,how is it that chucking piss and anything else they can get there hands on has become the norm at v,worst atmosphere ever constantly had one eye on people around me in case it kicked off. Just full of gangs of pricks wanting trouble and nothing to do with music, have been to glasto 3 times and NEVER felt so on edge like v,shame but they will still sell out,the pricks are welcome to it
Gazzawins
well, that was deff my first AND last V fest. what an absolute shower!! the acts I saw were great but the whole thing was let down by the organisation and the chavs. major and minor annoyances included: *place full of drunken chavs who will literally barge into you then look back and stare as if it was your fault. I love to get right on it and have a good beer but c'mon?!?! *the debit card machines at the beer token places were down all the time so you had to use the atms there that charge £2.50 for the pleasure of giving you YOUR cash - wonder how much they took on cash withdrawls alone that weekend!! thats if you could even find the cash points as even the most of the stewards didnt know.... *food and drink fags overpriced. *the queuing up for the drinks frequently got out of hand with people pushing so hard that once you got your drinks after the long wait, you couldnt even turn round and get out?!?! young girls were getting badly squashed by big blokes. when I asked a group if I could get round they didnt want to know and it ended with a bit of a pushing match and stand off with the old 'leave it Dave' cries from their scab girlfriends. *on Sat night we couldnt get into the red campsite as it went into a bottle neck and the security didnt let the crowd move through quick enough, even when it became apparent that it was getting really dangerous. all they were bothered about was giving attitude to people and their precious fence! I saw a couple of girls on the floor after all the pushing and shoving. not a nice sight. *the amount of people throwing stuff during the performances was ridiculous. in the end it wasnt even though it was like some beer left in a cup. A-Holes were pissing in bottles (I know cause I saw some d*ckhead do it with my own eyes) and throwing it down the front. couldnt believe it. saw another guy catch a nearly full bottle of coke (with the lid on) right in the face. they were in the end just finding what ever would do the most damage and then slinging it. well done you silly c*nts. also saw loads of left over food boxes (with lots of food still in it) being thrown over the handicapped people in the raised platform bit at the back. what scum would do this? hardly any of the d*cks in front of me were watching the act....they were too busy being c*cks. *people letting off flares in the campsite and those chinese lanterns. both of which could cause some poor sod to burn to death in their tent while they slept if they came down in the wrong place. theres so much more to say but i'm bored now. needless to say I would not recommend you go V unless you are a gluten for punishment oh yeah I nearly forgot....fighting. saw a fight at a festival for the first time EVER. nice - was during dizzee rascal. bazzaffc
im sorry to say i agree with you all. this was my fourth V and i do love the place. yes there are lots of things i dont like but overall its an amazing place to be. i do tend to compare it with glastonbury which ive done every year for the last 12 years but V is so different. as for this year we had the misfortune of camping next to about 20 essex chavs, boy and girls, aged between about 18 and 25. they were the lowest scumbags ive ever encountered. drunk 24 hours a day, screaming abuse at all and sundry and i reckon i heard the C word used about 1000 times and that was mostly by the girls. one bloke actually argued with a steward on saturday morning about not being able to plug in his hairdryer...... yes the loser brought a hairdryer to a music festival. on a brighter note the weather was fantastic and the music was great, depending on your taste of course. we met some great people again whos views of the chavs was as ours is. food is good albeit overpriced (as all festivals are)beer was good. chavs aside we had a great festival again. please organisers sort out your useless stewards. most of em didnt have a clue, i asked one where the nearest toilet was and he didnt know, another didnt know there were two different campsites. am i going next year??? yes i cant wait, just need to choose where we camp a little better. good luck to you all and maybe bump into you next year. nkcliff
always the same complaints, chavs, violence, smell of excrement, terrible overpriced food, after all some people say what do you expect from a festival. Go to a European festival you get what you expect is all i say stopped going to this 6 years ago and it was the same, fighting, pickpockets and dirty, also rude stewards and shit food, nowhere to sit filthy toilets, vomit everywhere thats the V fest in a nutshell. Max Ruddock
This year was my second year to V and although I have never camped - I can comment on the atmosphere. Unfortunately it is always the minority that ruin it for the majority.. We managed to squeeze right down the front for Pendulum and were on the barrier, guy next to me managed to get hit in the head by some complete idiot who decided it would be brilliant to throw a glass bottle. Needless to say, this guy instantly went down and I just about managed to catch him with blood pouring absolutely everywhere and although the stewards who were less than ten feet away from me could see this guy, they did absolutely nothing until they could see the blood that had now soaked me down the front. It was only then a good 20 seconds later did they help me to put him over the bar and get him some help.. Unfortunately V is a massively commercial event and the 'chart names' do always attract the younger audience i.e. people my age. I just find it a complete embarassment the way some people behave. Yeah, I go to festivals, get drunk, enjoy the music, but I have the utmost respect for my camping neughbours whatever age they are as after all, we are all there for the same purpose - TO ENJOY OURSELVES! It's just embarassing to be classed as in the same group as the rest of these idiots because of my age and unfortunately, this will carry on.. Oh well, if there's no good headliners this year then I won't bother. After attending Latitude, Wakestock and Jimmy's last year, I can safely say that there are better festivals on the calendar! Bevlaar
I used to go every year because it's only an hours journey away, nice & easy. 2008 was the last & final time, I vowed never to go again, not only because of the pushy, aggressive atmosphere that had started to form but mainly the theft!! The first night we were up through the night, lots of people stopped by for a chat & in hindsight it's awful to think that the people who stopped by and asked who we were with etc could have been the ones who robbed the tents near to us. It left us feeling really bad for people and so 'un festival'. People's tents were slashed, money & phones taken on the first night, they hadn't even got started! CDESSEX
Never had any problems and I've been going for 6 years. Don't let it put anyone off from going. It's a proper good laugh there
