Bloc Party look like they're making their next album without Kele. Still see them as headliners without him?

Very much doubt they could headline without him. Would be a questionable bookings with him, but with a new singer people won't have as much interest.

Looks like people will have to change their guess next year, they were questionable with Kele and without him I doubt they will take them on a chance as headliners without seeing how the new album/reception to the new guy does down first.

Still people said Bon Scott couldn't be replaced in AC/DC and they went to be bigger with Brain Johnson.

I'm still sceptical about all of this. The band were pictured together quite recently. we'll have to wait and see but without Kele I would say headlining is out the question.

Yeah, if you actually read the article it just seems like they're saying that the three guys want to play music together as a sideproject with a different singer, and maybe throw some BP tunes into the set. Nothing about sacking Kele from the band, just doing some stuff without him while he does his solo.

Kele comes back to the band after "failed" sessions with a new singer. Cue media frenzy (ish) bringing them back into the public eye and being able to line up 'that' headline slot at Reading which they evidently aspire to.

Kele sheds a tear on stage, everyone says how memorable the set was and thus they're pinned down for future headliner status 3 years on the trot like their last set of shows at Reading.

On the Lissack audio they specifically ask if the sideproject with new singer would be under the Bloc Party name, and all he says is that they'd play some BP songs.

I think they the band are just mucking about. Lissack seems like he's thinking on his feet when asked if it's all a joke.

Bloc Party have started posting stuff on Facebook, in the last half an hour or so they posted;

'Hello.'

'Wow. This is insane. Ok we'll do something soon. Not sorry we took so long off, we were knackered, innit.'

'To reiterate, Kele's still in the band (how could he not, he started the damn thing), but Tong's out, replaced by Dave Abbruzzese.'

Probably gonna end up playing Reading and Leeds aren't they...
