KoC were Bjork's replacement. Hoping they're good live, absolutely love them on record!

I'd imagine food will be pretty good, better than UK stuff anyway! The site is close to Matosinhos where there's supposed to be loads of good places to eat /drink so if it is bad on site, you can always leave and get something good!

Also, for anyone else wondering about getting back into town after the music finishes. I did some research and there's buses running from outside the site back into the centre all through the night. :-D

I never even noticed bjork cancelled:D No loss IMO anyway. Much prefer Kings.

Just mentioned about the food because I went to summercase in Madrid before which seems a similar setup to this, and the food was atrocious!! basically 2 choices, stale rolls with either cold hotdog or tortilla. Yuck. That Matosinhos seems a good 3km away, dunno if I fancy that. Hold on just checked and the metro is only 10 minutes walk and that seems to be in that area so that's an option for sure, nice one!

Cheers for the tip on the buses!

loved it! shame about the rain on the saturday and death cab not playing, but luckily our apartment was only a 10 minute walk from the park so we went back at 9ish to get changed, dry off and drink and came back at 12ish for washed out and the xx (who were so good, new songs sound amazing). got into the Kindness gig at the Hard Club on sunday which was a highlight for me, they were so good.

definitely would go again. very well organised considering it was the first year they've done it in porto

obrigado

well impressed too, very enjoyable fest! The XX were my favs too, hadnt been a fan, but they were sumptuous. The sound was impeccible. Beautiful gig. The setting was perfect.

My one gripe was why the feck were Beach House in the smallest stage?! Ridiculous decision there. Saw them from the outside of the jammers tent.

The argentinian beef was to die for!!

Missed the rain watching the Portugal match in a pub across the road:D

If it had a stronger lineup I'd definitely consider revisiting.

I had an absolutely amazing time, such a good festival! All the bands I saw were really enjoyable, especially Kings of Convenience, M83 and The Flaming Lips. Also, staying up till 6am dancing in the club tent was so fun! Will definitely consider going back next year if the line up is as good

We're not Portuguese, obviously, but Porto is one of our favourite cities, and a large part of the attraction of this festival (as well as the stellar line-up, of course!) is the fact that it's in Porto.....

And the one thing that you HAVE to do, when you stay in Porto, is visit a port wine lodge (or two or three ....). You'll find them next to the river Douro at Villa Nova de Gaia. There are loads of them, and you can't miss them because many of them have the names of the companies in large letters over their roofs. In most of these you can pay to take a tour or sample the produce at a reduced price - or both! It's definitely a good way of whiling away an afternoon or two! On the opposite side of the river from the port wine lodges you have the Ribiera, a beautiful old area of Porto, which is also well worth a visit.

Interestingly, we've never visited the seaside part of Porto. So it's good to hear that that's beautiful too! Really looking forward to it! :)
