Can we have a bit of recommendation thing.... here goes.

Tent - depends if its just you or a few people sharing

Sleeping Bag - 2 season should do you, cheap at argos !

Rucksake - 50 to 75ltr should be fine, again cheap at argos

Booze -you can drink at the tent but not in the arena so i would imagine you'll have a few cans in the morning, a few on trips back to tent and a few at the end of the night. depending how shitfaced you wanna be i would imagine from thurs to sunday 30 cans would do. if you mean beer deals then check the supermarkets out closer to the time, if you think the minimum price thing is gonna push the price up a lot then asda has 18 cans of fosters, stella, stella cidre, john smiths for £12 a pop.

Food - depends if you're taking some sorta camping stove, if you are then stuff like pot noodles, rice, cous cous, pasta plus some tins of big breakfasts normally go down well, crisps and cereal bars as well. I normally take bacon and sausage for sarnies in the mornings which goes down well with the family

Just insert links or just explain what you recommend :)

Cheers!

Done a Leeds Festival for last 4 years so Im fairly savvy, just thought It'd be helpful for people so thanks.

Im after a decent two person tent, needs to be as waterproof as possible (Had one last year at Leeds Fest and woke up with puddles in tent)

Links please?

Price range up to £70- (I know this maybe unrealistic)

Tent - go for a tent 1 person bigger than will actually be using it & with a HH value of 2000 or more (the higher the number the more waterproof)

have a look at these two (around your budget)

Sleeping Bag - 2 seasons will be fine late July - try Go Outdoors (in store or online www.gooutdoor.co.uk) - they are always doing 'specials' so keep your eye on the website (or even register to get email offers)

Rucksake - as I've only ever stayed in Emperors Field, always had my stuff in the car - only ever used a day rucksack to take stuff into the arena

Booze - drink as much as you like at your tent but the prices in the arena aren't that bad - if you're close enough to your tent you could always pop back between acts. you can get lucky and get booze into the arena from your own supplies but dont guarantee it as they do search (not 100% if i saw right)

Food - typical festival food, loads of choices...if you're in Emperors Field you can keep meat fresh in a coolbox in your car & use decent disposible bbqs (great for cooking baked beans/tinned items!! just pop the lid & place the can on the bbq....works a treat) for the first couple of days - cheaper option than buying inside

Can we have a bit of recommendation thing.... here goes.

Tent - We had this one from Argos last year and it was fine. £25 for a 4 man (would say it would accomodate 2 comfortably) http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9275719/Trail/searchtext>TENT.htm

Sleeping Bag - Spend £20/£30 on a decent one, it can get bloody freezing

Rucksake - I bought an Air Land Sea one about 8 years ago for £70, well worth spending the extra if you think you'll be using it for a few years

Booze - I normally take 2 crates (48 cans) between me and my missus (funny that, I have the carry the bloody things from Birmingham and she gets to drink them). Works out 6 a day over the 4 days, 2 or 3 before the arena opens and the same when you get back. Although she

Food - Crisps and chocolate, or if you fancy going a bit upmarket, tins of fish in pitta bread

Just insert links or just explain what you recommend :)

Best tip I cud give that I did for the first time last year and found really worked was to take a decent sized coolbox, I then filled about 4 2ltr fizzy pop bottles with water and various smaller bottles with water and froze them all days before we went. I then packed the coolbox with a mixture of the frozen pop bottles surrounded by beer, bacon, sausage, butter and other stuff that needed chilling, we had cold beer for 4 days, when we went home some of the 2ltr pop bottles still had ice in them. As long as you dont leave it open and keep it packed so theres not loads of air in there it should be fine.

Cold beera much better than the warm festival efforts im used to.

heres the latest line up breakdown for you, did originally think that spector would headline the calling out stage on the friday night but theyve confirmed for the saturday, if anyone has any suggestions for the calling out headliner then chip in, im leaning towards possibly benjamin francis leftwich now. He does seem to be headlining a few other smaller festivals like willowman

unknown stage

mono lp's

the view (no official date but would imagine they'll be main james support)

twisted wheel

calling out

headline vintage trouble

glow

headline benga

a skillz

unknown stage

bombskare

King Charles

Random Impulse

toy

thats working on the assumption that dodgy and dreadzone will appear on the main stage, with their recording history id be suprised if they appeared anywhere else.

also working on the theory that dj yoda will have to be main stage to accomodate his marching band entourage

loads of people were sneaking in to use the showers (i use sneak in the weakest of terms though, more like casually strolling through the gap in the fence with a towel rolled up in their arms and shampoo in their hand !), cant say i saw anyone using the same tactic to use the toilets, although last years emperors had the same toilets as the rest of the site so it would have made no sense.

i cant imagine people would want to stroll all the way to the emperors field with the plan of having a cheeky dump it doesnt have the same pay off as a refreshing shower

Speaking of it being 100 days away same as the Olympics Opening Cermony, does anyone think that there will be any coverage of the olympics on site during the weekend?

I realise that the weekend is all about music and culture, but sport is part of British culture.
