RockNess 2012 Wishlist/Predictions

Headliners.. I really have no idea who will be announced. I would love the likes of Beastie Boys, Arcade Fire and Daft Punk as I have said previously.. but.

Who would you like to see at festival on the Afterburner for instance, and in Clash/Goldenvoice? I have put together a few wee wishlist/predictions list below off the top of my head:

DJ's/Dance/Electronic:

- Justice (Pulled out in 07', T got them in 08', they are back in 11'/12', surely they will come to RN?)

- Maya Jane Coles (Seen her support James Zabiela recently, and she definitely lives up to the hype! She would be amazing on Arcadia)

- Richie Hawtin (Plastikman Tour in Dec 11' with AEG.. possibility of Clash headliner?)

- Mark Knight (Seen him in Space Ibiza this year and he absolutely smashed it!)

- Carl Cox (Hasn't been at RN in 06', popular man in the dance scene and I'd imagine he might be booked this year)

- Trentemoller

- Tiga (Surely..)

- Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

- Jamie Jones (Missed him last year.. and missing his gig in Edinburgh in 2 weeks, I hope he is booked for 12')

- Moderat

- Armand Van Helden & A-Trak (Not Duck Sauce, didn't enjoy their set at Amnesia Ibiza. A-Trak's 'Aframe show' however and Armand solo?

- SBTRKT (Was amazing live at Bestival and even his DJ set I seen recently was brilliant)

- Royksopp (Would be a very cool booking)

- Major Lazer (Had hoped for them last year..)

- Avicii (Not sure if he will be booked, every promoter in the UK seems to be after him right now)

- Afrojack (I can imagine seeing him on the line up this year. Did play a great set supporting Pete Tong earlier this year in Edinburgh)

Bands:

- Naked and Famous (Are touring Asia next year I think, but hopefully available for RN)

- Black Keys (I had hoped they would play last year, but no luck.. they have just released a new track though, so perhaps?)

- M83

- Sleigh Bells

- Foals (They have been quiet recently, but they are seriously one of the best live bands I have ever seen..)

- Phoenix (Have wanted to see for so long now.. they would be amazing)

- The Horrors

- Ghost Poet

- The Temper Trap

- Kassidy (Seen them at Belladrum last year, and I think they would be a great band for RN)

- We Were Promised Jetpacks (Another Scottish band that would be RN worthy, new album just released)

Obviously just some ideas off the top of my head...I would love to hear what other ideas/wishlists the rest of the RN efest fans have though. I am getting excited already!

  • 3 weeks later...

I won't be going if Avicii plays and I'll tell all my friends not to go, they probably wouldn't anyway if that was playing. I'd also get my friends to tell their friends not to go.

In fact, I'd probably make a facebook group telling everyone not to go.

Avicii is a god damn' terrible DJ, person and producer. I'd rather S Club 7 made a comeback tour and headlined the afterburner one night than Avicii play at all.

been spending a lot of time thinking about the line up, and apart from the promoter slip up (well documented else where in the forum) we have had no inside information. So here's our prediction Moby, Friday, Justice Saturday, Noel Gallacher Sunday. Feels that it hangs together with the current feel of the festival and is no to extravagant when it comes to costing
