kipper64
Did it sell out this year? I remember it "sold out" in 2010 but don't remember them saying it sold out this year. For The record I couldn't give a shit about playing fanboy for Soni or Download. Edited December 9, 2011 by kipper64
biffoire
Even the band said when they announced the dates last year that everyone would be sick of the sight of them after touring the uk. Maybe you should email that comment to Dave Grohl.
kipper64
Perhaps I should! Because the UK tour was hardly that extensive and I never got anything close to a chance of seeing them. TITP was the same weekend as sonisphere and sold out straight away as usual anyways
biffoire
There isn't a band alive that would get me to TITP.
gazza_20
I'm not so sure Soni did sell out? You could defo buy tickets right upto the festival. And with regards to festivals saying they have fantastic headliners. They all do it, but then they're not goign to say. We have shit headliners, don't attend our festival are they

cheeseisamazing
Download/Soni there's no difference, still run by organisers saying they've got brillaint headliners regardless of who they've actually got so Soni saying they've got "fantastic headliners" really goes mean nothing. gazza_20
anyone seen this one facebook? http://www.facebook.com/PearlJamSoundgardenWorldTour made me wonder if Soundgarden are going to be announced as support for them or something? luckysalt
As far as I'm concerned, they are still even. Download's headliners this year are the worst in their history, all a matter of opinion though. Oh and Metal Hammer have just said Soni's lineup is going to be amazing. lharris92
soundgarden wont as pearl jam have gigs in and around the weekend of soni. wouldn't be feasible as the drummer is in both bands
Rancidpunk_76
With so many big bands no longer in the running, who's left?? For the record, i'll be going regardless (as it's been a great festival 3 years running) but who's big enough to fill headlining slots and are actually available to play? jump
^ Who are Little Mix? System Of A Down Aerosmith Foo Fighters TOOL KISS My Chemical Romance Deaf Leppard AC/DC Muse Linkin Park Paramore Van Halen Other crap. That's not to say I think any of them are likely, I'm saying there's more bands out there than people think there actually is.
gazza_20
anybody reckon they may have Linkin Park, RATM, Guns N' Roses? at least two of them are touring next year.
JamesT977
I think its quite likely to be KISS to headline Sonisphere because the've been holding off on announcing their 2012 monster tour for a while now and so have Sonisphere for their line up ? she bangs the drums
According to the Twitter guy who has posted on the official forum, it is looking like the end of the month when the announcement will be finally made. http://www.sonisphereforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11106&start=
she bangs the drums
Who knows when the announcement will be made, it doesn't looks like Sonisphere know! DarrenWatkins Darren Watkins @ @Sonisphere when is ur announcement coming? This week? Next week? Or the end of Jan? 4 hours ago » Sonisphere Sonisphere @ @DarrenWatkins yes... Maybe all of those. jump
Have they said why they're holding off making an announcement so far?
she bangs the drums
No idea why as nothing has been said, it makes no sense to me for Sonisphere to wait until after Download make there next announcement on the 16th as if the undercard is good, lots of people who can only afford to go to one of the festivals are going invest in a Download ticket? I guess it is down to when the headliners they have booked allowing them to make the announcement?
